Writing the Next Chapter in Your Life ... Literally

Is there a book, poem, screenplay or article in you just waiting to come out? Don’t just sit there … ThinkUp!

Whether you’re an armchair poet or have a cinematic mind, writing can be one of the most rewarding and frustrating professions in the world. While we can’t all be Francis Ford Coppola, Maya Angelou or Mary Higgins Clark, there are classes and conferences to help your writing along.

Gotham Writers’ Workshop offers online courses and NYC classes. A large selection of courses across various disciplines will keep you writing and help you become a better writer.

For writers in the West, the Book Passage, an independent bookstore in the San Francisco Bay Area, offers writing classes and conferences year-round. From travel writers, mystery writers, children’s and cookbooks, if there is a book in you, the classes at the Book Passage will help you reveal them.

Is there writing workshop or conference you’d like to suggest? Feel free to provide details in the comments below.

This is helpful, thanks! I am a "wanna be writer"…so many ideas inside me! I love to write…I would love to publish something.

I am 51 and have my debut novel, FAT CHICK, coming out in OCT. I never thought I’d be "debuting" anything at this age, but you never know.
