Coulter on Caroline Kennedy: 'Every Time She Opens Her Mouth It Gets Worse'

(and other gentle musings from the irritatingly leggy author of Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ and Their Assault on America)
By Myrna Blyth

She also tells the little-reported tale of how Obama won his Illinois Senate seat. During the presidential campaign, Obama was full of sanctimony about keeping candidates’ families off-limits. But, Coulter writes, “The only reason he was in position to run for president in the first place was that the Media Attack Machine ripped open the sealed divorce records of his two principal opponents … Why did no one know that during the 2008 campaign? The fact that Obama won his Senate seat by rifling through the divorce records of his opponents is surely at least as important as the fact that Palin’s teenage daughter got pregnant out of wedlock,” she contends.

What does Coulter think of Sarah Palin? “I loved Sarah Palin. The media went after her so viciously and it was all about class,” she says. “She is a real middle-class woman, just the sort of woman that Democrats are always pretending they represent, and they attacked her relentlessly. I am not saying she was ready to be president this year, but with McCain running, she wasn’t going to get anywhere near being president. If she goes back to Alaska and is a good governor and studies and learns, she may be a presidential candidate a couple elections from now. Maybe she could be another Reagan. Remember, Reagan didn’t run for president at forty-four. She has things she needs to learn. But she has heart and soul and you can’t learn that from a book.”

Judging by his Cabinet choices, Obama may not be as crazy as I thought he was. That may be worse for my career but better for the country.

As for Caroline Kennedy’s bid to be named senator, Coulter snorted, “I am indignant! In New York and Massachusetts people act as if the rest of the country is primitive, but they are the ones who are so primitive and nepotistic to even consider her. Fortunately, I think that may be headed for a crash landing. Every time she opens her mouth it gets worse.”

Although Coulter has had her great success preaching to the converted, I wondered if she also hoped her books might be read, as well, by independents or even liberals who might be swayed by her arguments. "But liberals don’t read," she replied. “If they read anything they wouldn’t be liberals. Whenever I go to dinner parties it is always conservatives who know things, who have the facts. I want my readers to read the book and be able to shoot down the myth of the Republican Attack Machine. I want them to argue with liberals on the street.”

Still, as the Inauguration approaches, Coulter is feeling just a bit more positive about the Obama presidency. “Judging by his Cabinet choices, he may not be as crazy as I thought he was," she said. “That may be worse for my career but better for the country. And that’s all right with me.”

First off, first time poster. Just caught this website and it looked interesting. I’m one of those conservatives that apparently Carmel has so much disdain for. As to Ann- I think she is witty, meticulously insightful, and points out the comic quirks that make up both the Repubs and Dems. It’s not well-received because she isn’t as steeped in well-meaning PCisms like Carmel and other liberals. Ann, perhaps, is the most threatening of all conservative women, she is educated ( a constitutional lawyer) who doesn’t care what others think. As to Carmel, you seem to be overly ticked off and steeped in conservative/Republican stereoytypes as many liberals I’ve met over the years. While I don’t agree with Ann’s assertion that liberals don’t read (I think she was being sarcastic) I think she was pointing out that liberals seem to be steeped in their own side of things and are rather insulated. I’ve often found, growing up in a liberally steeped college town, that liberals look down on others who have a different twist on things even though they think that they’re the masters of non-conformity. Just because you may have multipe degrees and are “well-read” does not mean you have the solutions to the world’s problems. I would be the last to point out that I, with my multiple degrees and “well-readedness,” knew it all. I’ve met many liberals who “know it all” yet seem to be divorced from either reality or the daily concerns of others. As my father once said, the more learned you are, the less you know. Carmel, do you actually know Republicans or Conservatives? Are you actually interested in engaging in a dialogue with other people who might not share your political viewpoint? Do you actually get out there and talk to people (offline) who you may not agree with? What’s the problem with an active duty military? What’s the problem with living within your means and a fiscally responsible government (something that the Repubs failed at)? I’m big enough to admit that Pres. Bush failed keeping government from mushrooming and becoming an albatross. Will you be big enough at admitting to Obama not delivering the grand vision he has so promised? Carmel, calling Ann Coulter “skankey” is neither befitting informed dialogue on this website or your “well-considered” reputation. Perhaps, before going off, foaming at the mouth as you do about those nasty “fascists” you might want to tell me what’s so great about liberalism and what’s so bad about Ann’s take on it. Oh, and by the way, the anti-slavery movement wasn’t created by liberals. It was a larger movement that incorporated many like-minded people of different political viewpoints (many of them Republicans and suffragettes). Also, feminism is composed of not only liberals but conservatives. Unions- I don’t think they were an entirely liberal creation but one inspired by reformers and even European communists. Unions don’t always benefit the whole, especially the worker they’ve pledged to protect. For someone who’s seemingly mastered how to tell Conservatives where to go, you have an ill-conceived “mastery” of history. That’s what’s so sad about many liberals. They like to recreate a history that they want to take some manner of credit for. Liberals might get some of the credit but they can’t claim all of it.

NBC HAS SHOWN SOME TASTE, BACKBONE AND CREDIBILITY BY CANCELING COULTER’S APPEARANCE. WOW NEEDS TO SHOW THE SAME.
Frannie Em
Well Carmel If this book does as well as the rest she can probably buy NBC, and she has threatened to. I didn’t see her listed on their line up for tomorrow, but I guess it is not to be. Personally, I am more concerned about what is going on in Gaza. Have you had an update today. Besides this, I have been very busy. My son is supposed to get out of the Army in June, but now he is worried because word is coming down that PE Obama wants to send 30,000 troops into Afghanistan. He is worried that he will be stop lossed. Have you heard anything about the amount of troops? I just want him to get out and finish college.

If this book does as well as the rest she can probably buy NBC, and she has threatened to.” Ann Slanders last book…”If Liberals had any brains, etc” TANKED….she might threaten to buy NBC but that’s as lame as the rest of her schtick….and while am sure the Fox Machine will beat the drum for her, after the first four weeks it’ll wind up in the $1 bin like the last…..She’s as tired as that black cocktail dress that she hasn’t taken off since 2001….and being banned on NBC and MSNBC is just the start of the well deserved slide….she’s going down with the rest…. a stale old joke like Dennis Miller.
Frannie Em
Carmel Maybe, maybe not. I have never read one of her books so I don’t know how much she will make, or if she can by the going bankrupt NBC. Regardless of that, do you realize that every time you post here negative or whatever, it shoots up the number which insures that Ann Coulter will be back. Maybe you like when she is on. Actually, I kind of figured they would have her here at the beginning of the year to boost the numbers and attract more posters. You’ve done well by adding to her popularity. Good job.

do you realize that every time you post here negative or whatever, it shoots up the number which insures that Ann Coulter will be back.” That’s one perspective…the other more accurate one is that I am Swiftboating her and that will live as long as Google does…and WoW is trying to get high-end sponsors like “Calistoga Ranch” and believe me…I can make those go bye-bye really quick if they continue to ahve this WAR CRIMINAL on.
Frannie Em
Maybe, maybe not. They may only care about the number of hits. You don’t know if Coulter has been a guest, or is a regular guest at Calistoga Ranch. Why would they care? A guest is a guest.

Ann Coulter cancelled her appearance on C-Span Washington Journal Sunday morning, unexcpectedly. They substituted Ann for Byron York. Ann Coulter cancelled . The statement “she never cacels’ is a lie. Her outrageous ignorant tantrums has us wasting time stating facts and watching what Americans really care about. It is amazing, she dissapeared in the General Election but now seems to be welcomed back into certain arenas of the ‘keep em stupid’ media outlets. The NBC slander was probably just that. I guess the ‘mainstream media’ did not have any informative news to educate the populus. Mo new 50 BILLION dollar SCAM to expose. CNN MSNBC FOX can wait until a scam that is bigger than $50B, otherwise, we can liosten to Ann Coulter. Real information regarding the GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS , who needs to hear or learn about that? Meanwhile, the thieves are ‘crashing’ computer files preventing thorough investigations. The press is where? Worried what Ann Coulter thinks? Is Palin’s 17yr old single mother daughter acceptable? Should we expect Palin’s child to be a convict? Or maybe not because she is white. Or does Ann know if Palin’s daughter is a “LIBERAL”? I would like to be informed of all of her good work in this society ? Does anyone know of one?

Well, people, if you have the time and inclination to read this BS, maybe it would be good if you wrote a check in donation to the emergency fund on behave of Jane Doe, the 28-year-old Lesbian who was gang-raped in the Bay Area about a month ago. She’s in need of moving expenses, since she’s too traumatized to return to her neighborhood.
