The Book Party

Introducing ... The wOw Book Club

Joni Evans
wOw is constantly adding new features to THE BOOK PARTY and we’re delighted by the responses we are getting from you. So, I’m especially excited to announce a new—and interactive—-feature:  the wOw Book Club.

Every month our amazing bookseller, Roxanne J. Coady, of RJ Julia Booksellers, will select a new book for our community to read. One month later—-after everyone has had a chance to read the book—we’ll have an online discussion on our site, and the author will join in the conversation (over a period of a few days). So, this way, we all will have the chance to ask questions of our authors, and to express reactions and ideas with each other.

Tomorrow Roxanne will make her announcement for the first book.
Please come back for it. AND sign up for our newsletter to be alerted to future book club picks.

Joni, This is a great idea. One suggestion though, please try to make some of the books under 300 pages. Something like Anna Karenina would take me a half year to read. I read word for word as if every word were important. Never did catch on to that speed reading stuff.

Marjorie, I’ve been in a book club for 27 years and Anna Karenina is one of our top 10 favorites. You should join Audible.com and download it to listen to. It is worth the effort. Tolstoy writes women amazingly, go figure ! And with the wonderful narration it is almost like listening to a play. I listen to books while I work, becomes addictive.

Joni … Your mind goes a mile a minute and your creative spirit is working overtime to continue to open up our lives and our worlds — giving us all opportunities to have conversations with those with sharp minds and diverse views. Let the reading begin! Joan

oh yummy yummy yummy. I even have one to suggest. This past Saturday, I attended a book signing at the author’s house. A female theologian, it’s the story of her journey to the Christus Sophia, or a feminist spirtuality. She lost two children, one to SIDS and the other, her 19 year old, to suicide. She can be googled. “When The Moon Is Dark, We Can See The Stars” by Pamela Prime
