Intuitive Peggy Rometo on Life With the Gift of Reading the Future

Editor’s Note: Intuitive healer Peggy Rometo is more than just a psychic or a medium. Peggy is an extraordinary woman who specializes in receiving information through intuition. Click here to read more about her on wowOwow.

LIZ: What and who is Peggy Rometo?

PEGGY: I consider myself to be a normal woman; a wife, a mom, a sister, a daughter, a friend. In my professional life I call myself an Intuitive and have for a decade before that term became popular. I use the word Intuitive because it expresses many of the different modalities I am connected with: medium, psychic, Reiki master, healer, teacher, mentor and, of course, Star Signs contributor.

LIZ: How did you come into the orbit of wowOwow?

PEGGY: I met Joni Evans through my literary agent and now our mutual friend, Cynthia Cannell, which in itself is an entirely fascinating story too long to share. Suffice to say I had written some things and Cynthia showed them to Joni and Joni contacted me about a year ago or more. As Joni was putting wOw together, she knew I wasn’t an astrologer, but felt I was very accurate with time tables, details and so on and wanted something wonderful and unique, just like the site. She asked me if I could do a weekly horoscope. I said I had no idea, but I’d "check in" with my guides, who said I could. For months prior to wOw’s launch, I wrote a weekly Star Signs and Joni monitored it with friends, colleagues and strangers for accuracy. It’s the result of our conversation and her question!

If I want information, I just need to breathe, turn my head a bit and the information just flows into my mind and body ...

LIZ: Without being too specific, give me a brief answer about where you live and how. Are you married? Do you have children?

PEGGY: This week I’ll be happily married for 19 years. About a year ago my husband, Bob, decided on his own to help out and started doing the cooking and the laundry. I’m probably the first woman in history whose husband takes up doing the laundry and cooking after 18 years of marriage! Now you know why I say "happily married." We have three children: a son Marco, 16 years old, and a junior in high school; our son Renzo who is 13 years old and in seventh grade; and a daughter Risa, age nine and in third grade. All in three different schools. Along with two dogs – a rescued greyhound named Goldie and a Jack Russell, Maggie, who drags me around for a three-mile run several times a week so she doesn’t drive us all crazy.

We live in the Sarasota-Bradenton area of Florida, which has beautiful beaches. I do the car pooling and attend athletic and school events (Marco’s very good at tennis and track). Renzo is an aspiring model/actor and Risa’s interests are in acting and dance. I took them on their first shoot a few weeks ago. It was for a documentary. I had to laugh when the director told us we were invited to the premier and he’d let us know when it is going to be held. They were thrilled.

LIZ: How long have you felt that you could sometimes sense the truths about people, or read the future, or foresee events?

PEGGY: I would say initially back in my teens and more frequently in the 1980s during my 20s – especially around dating! Just ask my poor husband some time. In late 1998 I began to embrace it in an effort to learn how to tap into it and to control it. It wasn’t until 2000 that I developed a confidence or true belief that I could do this consistently — after years of "practicing." Years later, on occasion I would step back and wonder quietly to myself, "Is this my path, should I really be doing this?" Then almost immediately some "random" amazing event would happen where a complete stranger or religious person would have a dream about me or be told in a mediation to call me or give me a message that was an emphatic “yes!” After two or three of those — you just stop asking!

Peggy Rometo - Thank you for sharing your story. For the last couple of years, it seems as if the subject of psychic capability as been the basis for programming on television and for plots in current novels. Is this a fad? Or has the population become less skeptical and more acceptable to the fact that a few among us have an extra sensory capability. It would seem to be rather foolish to call all psychics charlatans just as one does not automatically refer to a chiropractor as a quack. I am intrigued and will continue to read and learn.

Growing up, my mother was always predicting things that would and did happen. I am a believer but not gifted myself. I have read most of your answers to questions posted to you and feel that you are very heartfelt about what you do. With so many cons in the world today, it is nice to see someone doing something because that is what they believe and not trying to make a million off the suffering of others.

Dear Peggy and Ms. Liz, One of you or both of you and all that are reading this will think I am “nuts” … every night (early morning) when I lay down to sleep I see the faces of people whom I have never met and that have passed away. First I see their normal live faces and then I see their after life or dead faces … TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. I say to them “… go … it is over now. You have to go on I can’t tell you again that I love you and that god loves you … you know this” Only two have come back to haunt me … I don’t want to talk about it on account it still makes me very scared. These were not the faces of good. Once in awhile I will see my loved ones … only three very clear visions have come to me … and I did not like the message. That does not mean the message is spooky or dark or scary it means they were fine without me and that I was the one that needed to carry on. I wanted to believe that these family members would not survive without me …. and guess what? They are doing well and I am the one that needs to survive. About the “knowing” … I too know about the “knowing” … and my son M has a better sense of the knowing than I do … M is autistic. And for the record, I don’t care who laughs at this post. I think of the color … indigo. Scorpio in Dragon

Riki Tiki Tavi ………………I for one, would not dream of laughing at your post. I believe each of us who are able to “hear, see or sense” the world through extraordinary means are gifted. The word “extraordinary” expresses a uniqueness, thus, not everyone will understand and that’s okay too!

I am sure you have had people ask you about their dreams before. Briefly, I had several dreams, two about deaths, before I turned ten years old. At the time, I wrote them down in journals and felt ashamed when they came true. I could never talk to anyone about it. The deaths were total surprises; there was nothing to indicate the events would happen. I have never told family members. I have also had extremely vivid, lucid dreams since I was a child, which I took as a good sign, because I could manipulate situations, and woke up happy. The problem is, there are times I am afraid to go to sleep. I cannot remember a time in my life, youth or middle-age, when I didn’t have insomnia. Into adulthood, I have had strong feelings about experiences and do not doubt their veracity; the majority prove to be accurate. I believe this, to some extent, is something everyone experiences whether or not they believe. I also realize I sound like a nut. I am quite aware of this, but at this point in my life, I really don’t care. Is there a way to work with the feelings, say, to reduce depression or anxiety? I am working through some tough issues right now.

Dear ki b,

It’s not abnormal to have deep prophetic dreams at different times in our lives. You are no more responsible for those deaths you dreamed about than I am for dreaming about my brother dying in a car accident. However, your gift seems to be more prevalent in your dream state creating additional anxiety about what happens when you sleep. Fear is at the root of your insomnia and absolutely you can get help in a number of ways. Continue to work with your therapist to deal with your deeper issues. Likewise, I would look to find a reputable Intuitive Healer or teacher in your area to teach you how to ground using your breath. Yoga can be helpful in calming the mind and body and is vey restorative. You would also benefit from taking a Reiki I class and learning to use it on yourself. The energy itself is very grounding and healing. There are clinical studies that have proven Reiki to work well with Western medicine. Just google Reiki and hospitals for more information on its effects.

To answer another reader’s question in regard to more television programming being shown about mediums and psychic happenings, I would have to agree that it is no accident. As man gets more in touch with our selfish nature and the feeling of lack in our lives, the world becomes more chaotic. This chaos is being reflected in weather changes, wars and self-indulgence. As in all life there is a duality; this polar opposite force is connected to man’s fulfillment and our desires to be all that we can be. It is this duality that is awakening the desire and curiosity about where we fit into the puzzle of life. What path am I on? What are my true gifts? Why am I here? What do I have to offer? It is this higher consciousness that has created a curiosity and pent-up thirst for psychics, mediums, intuitives, etc., that television executives are capitalizing on. As with anything, you’ll get both sides of the story: those who believe and those who don’t. My suggestion is, no matter what it is that you are reading or listening too, be curious, be willing to be surprised and listen to your gut instincts to find what works for you. Logic doesn’t always prevail. A truly successful and gifted human being uses a combination of their logic and their gut instincts. We all have access to these gifts if you’re willing to explore them.

Thank you all for your comments!

Love and light,

Peggy

Not that my opinion matters much, but I believe a lot of the ouji/seance/astrology stuff is demonic-influenced. But I also believe that God instilled in each of us a bit of a sixth sense. I remember my mother walking into the living room one night many years ago and she said the Michigan Daily lottery numbers outloud, a moment before they were read off live on the air. She did this kind of thing many times in her life, but had no control over it. For example, she couldn’t predict cards.

James - my mother was the same way. Won’t go into all the details about the many events but the one that makes me laugh is - back in the day of radio she would walk into a room and say “What did they just say?” and the announcer would quip “We repeat …..” This happened so often that when she would say “What did they just say?” we would point to the radio as if to cue it ….. “We repeat ….” and then we would laugh.

I was hoping you’d say, Wow O’ Wow, you look different! Oops, that would’ve been confusing, too.

James, being attuned to the universe is a gift. Any of our gifts are just that, gifts. It is in our intention and our motivation that good or evil exists. And it is in us. We had a terrible tragedy in California yesterday when a man beat and killed a two-year-old boy to “get the demons” out. Seeing demonic intention in others can be very very dangerous.
