PEGGY: My main psychic sense is hearing and feeling (known as a clairaudient, clairempathic and clairsentient); seeing is secondary (clairvoyance). I mainly focus and listen for any thoughts that come through my inner right ear/right brain. A spirit will oftentimes express themselves to me by interrupting me, unless I’ve asked for them ahead of time, per the client’s request. I always start out a session by connecting to what I call “Universal Consciousness”; it’s an energy flow that is available to all of us, at all times and is all inclusive of everything we should ever want or need. While I’m initially delivering the information to the individual I’m working with, I may get interrupted with another train of thought letting me know someone else is present – much like call-waiting.

The part of their loved one that we are connecting with is just a small fragment ... it's the part of their soul that is familiar to us.

I don’t always get a lot of pictures of how a spirit may have looked here, but I may get a flash of something that was special to them or that they were known for. If they were bald I might see a bald head or a certain style of clothing, such as always wearing tennis shoes – even with a tux. I oftentimes get scenes where the faces aren’t that distinguishable, but allow me to describe what it is they want to pass on to their loved one. My strongest ability is to get more of their personality, their mannerisms or favorite phrases (I’ll make the same gestures they might have made). If they were loud in life – I’ll know it! If they were shy or quiet, it’s actually hard to hear the thoughts. I’ll also get body sensations of any ailments they had, especially prior to death or later in life.

LIZ: When talking to a client, do their "spirits" show up or do you need to ask for them?

PEGGY: Both! I’ve had spirits come through that weren’t asked for that want to pass on messages of forgiveness. I’ve even been asked to pass on messages to a co-workers or friends of the client I’m speaking with. If the spirit really needs to convey something they’ll get through any way and anywhere they can. Sometimes a spirit won’t show themselves initially to me and I’ll have to ask my Guides why I’m not connecting with that spirit and I’ll be told by my Guides, "They would NEVER do this!"and the client will get a chuckle, but then, almost always, the spirit comes through anyway with some sort of message and many times even makes a statement that they were brought here by the archangel Michael, who is known as a protector from evil, to protect the spirit and us from connecting with false spirits.

I always like clients to know that the part of their loved one that we are connecting with is just a small fragment of their loved one’s soul; it’s the part of their soul that is familiar to us. In most cases there is another part of their loved one’s soul that is more evolved in their wisdom now and if we connected to that part of their soul, we wouldn’t be able to recognize them as our loved one because they are so complete.

Peggy, thank you for being so generous with your gifts and time by contributing to this site. I wonder if you could give all of us only one more piece/peace of advice on how we might enhance our lives what you would say. I wish you fulfillment, peace and true happiness.

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for the kind words. To answer your question about enhancing your life I have found several things that have worked for me. Whenever I feel stuck or inconsistent, at some point, I realize that it’s time to work on me. It’s time to become responsible and somewhere along the line I must have stopped doing that. I start to look at my beliefs, my fears, how I’m reacting or over-reacting to situations, anger, justification, etc. We’re usually more successful if we have a friend, spiritual teacher, therapist, healer or mentor to assist us in this process of change. Simultaneously, it’s important to embrace where we are on the path of life; good or bad. To not judge ourself to harshly for falling off the path or acting to smug if we feel we’re ahead of the competition. When we slow down our awareness and pay attention by appreciating the moment, it acts like a door-opener to our intuition. When we are presented with a challenge, within the first 3 seconds, two thoughts are usually presented in our mind. What could be considered as a negative and a positive response. Many times the easiest way is the negative way - to get angry, to yell, to push away, etc. Most times we resist the optimal way, because we feel justified, etc. If you can slow down your thinking by being present and make better choices in the moment, you’ll find yourself happier and more in alignment with your life’s purpose. There are several books that can assist you. If your new to this conversation, “The Secret” has made quiet an impact on the spiritual community, as well as, Eckerd Tolle, “The Power of Now” or “A New Earth”. In addition, Laura Day’s, “Practical Intuition” is a great first look at how to use your intuition. If you are more logical minded try Malcolm Gladwell’s “Blink”. Have fun expressing yourself in the world! I’d like to thank everyone for your wonderful comments and especially for sharing your stories with one another. It’s great to see the interaction and I hope more of you choose to write in with your comments. Love and light, Peggy

Dear Peggy, I am so grateful that you embraced my question and have provided me with gentle and yet powerful advice. You have hit on and provided some insight to some of the themes that continue to dog and hamstring my intention to make true progress in my life. Thanks to someone named Oprah I do have “A New Earth”. E. Tolle’s words sort of floated around me and could barely find a pathway “in” - my fault not his I’m sure. I’ll pick it up again soon with a pathway cleared and much better “lighting” provided. I am logical minded =[ so I will look for “Blink” with much interest next and the rest will be on my shortlist. The advice you’ve offered me here has been copied and found its home in my “Growth” file under “Peggy Rometo” along with your newsletter and other advice. In an effort to revisit and harvest what once served me well I am re-reading Carl Jung’s “Man and His Symbols”. I can hardly describe how or why but this book had (and is again having) a powerful effect on me. Your advice has found its way into “me” and is tumbling around in there like airborne seeds and I know it will be up to me to plant it and allow it to propagate. You are a gem. Thank you so very much.

When I lived in Jerusalem in the mid-1970s, once weekly went to the “chamam”, a Turkish bath left of over from Ottoman times. The gossip there was several senior government officials regularly consulted with a clairvoyant practicing under the stage name “Meshi Zahav” (Golden Thread). Those weren’t good years for the Israeli government. Things have gone much better since hardboiled corporate lawyer types like Olmert and Livni took the reins.

I also believe in reincarnation. I’ve had Past Life regressions and learned about some of my previous lives……I see threads through all the lives. I also have some psychic abilities……The strongest is Loved Ones who have passed over contact me. The first was my 16 year old grandson who died in 1999, 2 years after having a heart transplant.. He always alerts me to his arrival by laughing or saying I’m here grandma. One night he came into my mind and said “We are Gathering” I didn’t know what that meant. So I asked, he explained that someone in our family was going to pass over. I didn’t know anyone was near death. He also told me who all the people were who were Gathering. About 2 hours later I received a phone call from my cousin telling me my Uncle had just died. I also received messages from my parents after they died……My husband and other relatives. My father was a preacher and didn’t accept my believe in reincarnation or psychic abilites. So when I received a message from him it was wonderful. He said, “Dona you were right” The most wonderful thing in receiving messages is that they are all happy and healthy (no matter what their condition before death) They also will come to us when ever we want. They (their souls) are still alive…….just on a different Plain. At times I’ve been allowed to see images of the ‘Other Side’ That’s so beautiful. Almost beyond description.

If my mother dreamed about birds, the next day a call would come that someone she knew died. Do “birds” symbolize death, or do you think that was just my mother’s symbol? Donna, You are blessed to have these visits from your loved ones.

Carol, A friend told me that Owls represent death in some American Indians belief system….Yes, I am blessed. Thank you.

Dona, My husband also came back on his birthday, Christmas Eve, six months after he died. I’d had a big gathering and everyone had gone, was sitting by the fire, felt a presence and he was standing there. Super vivid and holding out our son’s baby blanket to me-a comforting gesture, instead of his face was a night of stars, but everything else so vivid. It only lasted a couple of seconds and I was speechless, in shock. Always wished he’d come back for even just a half minute. I too have ultra-faith in the other side….not from religious…but from that experience, from love of physics and string physics and otherwise inexplicable things like Saint Joan of Arc’s visits. It’s wonderful to have that certain belief as you do.

I have really enjoyed reading this article about your process of helping others. It is a beautiful gift. Although no where as developed as yours, I too have been blessed with a highly intuitive nature. Being intuitive has kept me out of a lot of trouble and allowed me to serve others. My gifts are along the line of discernment (clairempathic) and prophesy (clairvoyance). I have also seen these gifts in my middle child who is 12 years old. I really wish that we knew someone who could help us further develop these gifts to be of reliable service to others.

I want to thank you for your advice the other day. You advised Reiki, which I have since learned, is a word derived from Rei, or Higher Power, and Ki, which is life force, energy. Ki is a nickname I was given by a loved one 40 years ago, and I have been struggling with belief in a Higher Power—so thank you for recognizing that. Also, I was surprised when you told me to continue my therapy. I never mentioned I was in therapy. Maybe I gave off those vibes, but you knew, from an email. I love that you believe in reincarnation. It gives me hope and helps others, too, I am sure. Again, thank you. I have started working with your advice. You have such a calming influence.

I can relate to what you were saying about seeing them one by one. I was over at a friends studio one night, she is a visionary artist (paints from the images that come to her from the unseen) , she has done numerous paintings of the grandmother/grandfather energies, mostlly Native American, one in particular I have always loved. As I watched the painting, it went to just a purple background, and one by one images were shown on the canvas. For about ten minutes, it was just repititous. In this world, many times the only way that I knew I wasn’t speaking to a physical person, was when who ever is with me, questions who I am talking too. Energies can become just as solid, as we are. Othertimes, I just hear or see in my mind who I am talking too. Or the room will fill with what looks like ribbons of energy, which would kind of remind you of smoke when it lingers and floats. The other night I could hear a chorus singing a song called “Now I know”, really pretty, and three parts of harmony, I did not bother to write it down, figuring I would remember, which is usually a mistake five minutes later. If I had wrote it down, it would have been a great song for a musician. :-) Keep on waking up this world! Blessings, Linda

wOw!! I’m so glad you were interviewed Peggy! It quenches my thirst on curiosity about everything I want to know and more. It’s so beautiful to know how some of us are listening a lot more about spirituality!!! I find myself no longer afraid of the dark as much. I do sense a heavy and safe presense. Perhaps it’s the angel who has been waiting in the wings to assist me in my gift so that I can begin to help others more. “I’m ready to go”, I say…I hope it my guide! if by chance, you would like to say something about that or perhaps anything else we can benefit from in staying on track with our spirituality/Guides…please respond. :) much blessings’ Laura

I would like to share a story. My grandson had a heart transplant at age 14…..He died 2 years later (1999) One afternoon I was sitting at my computer emailing the mother of the donor child…….we are chatting away and all of a sudden I could see my grandson standing right in front of me holding the hand of a younger boy. (I could still see the computer screen) It’s hard to explain. He said Grandma this is Brandon. He gave me his heart……. I was really shocked. About this time My friend (the mother) asks on email……what’s going on, I have chill bumps and the hair is standing up on my arms. When I told her that the boys were standing in front of me she said she almost fainted. I asked if she wanted to ask Brandon a Question. She asked if he was happy and told him she missed him so much. He said he was very happy and he and my grandson spent a lot of time together. All of this lasted perhaps a minute or so. They both said they loved us and then they vanished……..I can’t begin to explain how wonderful that was. Since that time I have been able to see several people. I saw my Uncle at his own funeral…….He walked behind his family and touched each one on the shoulder. I love this gift I’ve been given. It’s the one thing that has saved my sanity. I lost 15 family members in a three year period of time. From 1999 to 2001. Fluffy………He will come again if you so desire. Perhaps you won’t see him but you certainly can feel his presence. Find a quit place you both loved and meditate. Ask him to come to you. It’s amazing how sweet it feels when you feel their energy enter your body. Like a warm soothing feeling. I wish you luck…….I know he will come.

Beautiful story Sister Dona. I’ve had a couple of “visits” in both dreams and while awake. And I can truly say that the visits that occurred when I was awake were really something special. When they happened to me, I was hit with three feelings simultaneously, peace, a little fear, and happiness. Sister Fluffy, there is no doubt that his presence is near. When you least expect it, you’ll feel him beside you.
