Chris Brown Pulls Name From Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards

Chris Brown removed himself as a nominee at the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

The 19-year-old, who stands accused of beating singer girlfriend, Rihanna, was nominated for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. In a statement (where Brown doesn’t apologize for his actions), his rep says:
Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.
The announcement comes after an online petition gathered several thousand signatures, requesting that the kid-friendly network remove Brown as a nominee.

That was a smart choice for Chris to have made. He is a very talented young man and if I knew him personally I would remind him that there is a bonafide pedophile walking around when there was overwhelming “proof” that he has repeatedly been inappropriate with little boys. And yet to this day he is haled as the consummate performer. If Michael Jackson can survive in the music business after losing countless endorsement deals and contracts, so too can you Chris. As a matter of fact, from what I have seen your talent far surpasses that of Michael Jackson. My motherly advice would be: Keep your head up son, break up with Rhianna right away, focus on you for awhile AND get some therapy to deal with the negative surroundings you were brought up in that are clearly affecting you now…..then come back to the world and blow them away with your talent!

I wish Chris would end up in jail but I am sure it will be another Michael Vick, they will punish him but not to the full extent as they would a non celebrity punk who beats up his girlfriend.  They are never held to the same rules as non celebrities.

Yes Chris keep your head up so someone can knock it off and next time you get mad & want to beat Rhianna or another woman, walk away, that would show what a real man would do…

Both Chris Brown and Rihanna need some very serious counseling before they should "get back" together again. If she were my daughter she wouldn’t be seeing him, I don’t care about her age, until she had some time to really confront what happened and why. That "cleaned up" picture of her after the beating is not to be believed. Who does that to a woman he loves??? She IS young and God knows, so is he. But they have a brain and they know right from wrong. Right now, this whole situation is WRONG

Nickelodeon should have kicked him to the curb.

Anyone who rewards an abuser by buying his product, whether it’s music, movies, etc., should be ashamed.  By supporting a celebrity who has engaged in violence, you’re sending a message that the behavior is O.K.  It’s not.

Way too many teenage boys tend to think that they own or married to these young girls they are dating.

So they think they can beat the crap out of them and get away with it!

The parents of this girl should press charges against this guy!

But didn’t she run back in his arms to continue this sick relationship?

How sad is that?
