Twice a year reporters and buyers crowd into New York for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Reserved for editors, buyers, stylists and people in the business, the flurry of fashion shows, parties and celebrity events focuses on the future season and the public is left out. Not this time, however. While business fashionistas were focused on the clothes for Spring 2011, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers, the Couture Council and over 100 retailers around the city set up events and everyone was invited to see the fashions currently on sale.
