I loved Lily when she did Edith Ann, it was the best thing on tv. I got so good at doing it that when ever anyone came to the house my mother like most mothers made me show off. I even showed my own children a few times and until they actually saw Laugh In they thought I was nuts, lol
Lily was great then and she still is today.
Woodstock and Janis Joplin, jimmy Hendrix were all before my time, but I remember how the older kids always acted funny (they were stoned but I was too young to know that) while listening to their music.
When I was 17 Janis Ian came out with a song "At 17" and I could so relate, I was a nerd, I might have been on the city, and county swim team but that was the extent of my fitting in. I’d rather read a book or babysit and earn money then hang on the corner with the other kids listening to music and smoking (not just cigs). I guess after watching all the adults in my life fall down drunk every night in order to get some sleep really sunk in, because the few times I got drunk I totally didn’t like it.
The 60’s and 70’s were a time of growth and knowledge of who I didn’t want to be and to make a plan to escape as soon as possible from my family and where we lived.

For Me….I would agree on Lily and throw in Goldie…and the cast of Laugh In. I’d also include the Beatles and Joni Mitchell (Blue).
Love you Jane!
