Liz Smith: Lessons From Sandra Bullock and Jesse James Split (Audio)

If Sandra Bullock tattooed her love for her husband Jesse James clear across her bottom instead of affectionately thanking him during her Oscar speech, would that have kept the two together? The wild man is allegedly leaving his Oscar-winning lady for tattooed lady Michelle "Bombshell" McGee. (Click here to see a lovely photograph of the mistress and her ink-laden forehead!). Bullock joins a list of other award-winning dames whose marriages fell apart shortly after their big moment at the Academy Awards. This is why when an actress goes up to accept awards, they should thank themselves!

I wondered about Sandra’s sanity when she married Jesse James. His previous wife is a porn star who recently got out of jail.  But since Jesse and Sandra were working hard to gain full custody of his five year old, it was easy to assume that Jesse had finally stepped into the family man role and truly loved his wife .

Perhaps he does.  But love will not keep some men from the thrill of the hunt.  If an opportune moment presents itself, so will he.

Sad, but unfortunately very true about too many men out there.  (I also just read the latest installment of "Love in the Time of Viagara" and found it disheartening that so many men <!—break—> of our "advanced" age are  still into playing the same shallow and selfish "dating games" they thought they could get away with when they were young and "stud-ly" … so discouraging as this almost-60 divorced, professional woman, contemplates re-entering the e-dating scene.)  Sandra certainly deserves better.  I was so happy that she was finally recognized by the Academy for her tremendous talent.  She has been so under-rated just b/c she is mainly a comedic actress.  I thought she was really superb in "Crash", but never heard the accolades she should have received for that role.  (I have not seen her Oscar-winning role, in The Blind Side, yet.)  Too bad she was "blind-sided" by a cheating husband, after she gave such sweet tributes to him in her various award acceptance speeches.  I am sure that all of her fans are very sympathetic and supportive.

don’t know why - but I feel that Sandra was "blindsided" by this development( if you pardon the pun)  while the cat’s away… she’s off doing a film, and allegedly this.. so sad…i love the new "audio" scoop.. take care,  roger c. memos

My heart is absolutely broken for Sandra Bullock and the idea of Jesse substituting Sandra for some tatoo princess only adds to the disappointment. How much more effusive and thankful can any wife be? Sandra clearly was delighted with her life, humbled by her Oscar success. and committed to her family life. Males can be such incredibly stupid human beings. Married almost 38 years I know there ARE some exceptions….but this situation rates right up there with Tiger Woods!!Some height of glory! Talk about Blindsided!!

I am with you, Mary, watching Sandra Bullock when she won her Oscar and her subsequent rounds on the tv shows — I thought, there is a woman who has managed to actually have it all.   I will admit to on occasion wondering how likley it would be that someone who had previously married and had a child with a porn star would actually settle down with anyone.   But, I suppose the romantic in me truly hoped it would be so.

It will truly be interesting to see how this all plays out.   If Jesse James was acting when his eyes watered up at the Oscars, perhaps the wrong person won the acting award.

Yes, indeed, KayeTK, Jesse James’ eyes were watering, and did you notice that he looks rather grim in every picture with Sandra Bullock that has been published? If your wife won Best Actress, wouldn’t you be happy for her? It seems to me something was weighing on him — guilt? Maybe he felt bad that she said such glowing things about him when she won Best Actress — sentiments that were undeserved? I read that he has already apologized after she moved out. I suppose you can’t change a leopard’s spots. He had one really good thing going in his life, and that was Sandra Bullock, who was willing to help him fight for custody of his very young daughter. Sad.

Nice girls are attracted to bad guys. Simple and clear. Unfortunately, nice girls get "blindsided" and shafted and deceived by these jerks to a fault! She will recover and be stronger. I am; I’ve been there, but no more.

I don’t know Sandra Bullock but from interviews, and films she seems to be a woman worth jumping fences for. The disparity between her and Mr. James has perhaps proved to be too great a hurdle for him to get over that fence or get over his tattooed-cyle—wind-swept life. The picture of Michelle reminds me of a picture of the Snake Goddess in ancient mythology. And this he leaves Sandra Bullock for? Oy Vey!

This tattoo image of a woman is disgusting! My heart goes out to Sandra. Would corrective eye surgery help Jesse really see what he is doing?? Sandra became mom to kids also which has to make it that much rougher on her.

Very sad development for Sandra Bullock who is a class act.  Sorry to disagree with your audio clip Liz - I don’t think she knew ahead of time, she’s too savvy and respectful of her fans to deliberately mislead us.

I doubt she knew ahead of time also, Craig.   I think the tattooed lady couldn’t stand to see Jesse being so supportive of Sandra and Sandra talking about how great he was and decided to "put an end" to the show of a happy marriage by going public.    Otherwise, why wait so long?
