Mr. wOw: Who Does Christopher Meloni Have to Sleep With to Get an Award?

Who does Christopher Meloni have to sleep with to get an award?
Since 1994, this guy has acted his hot ass off, most notably in HBO’s "Oz" and NBC’s "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." He’s done plenty else, including a few comedy roles. (In real life, he is nothing at all like his famously intense "Oz" and "L & O" characters. He’s a riot.)
But in all this time, only once has he been Emmy-nominated — in 2006 for "L & O." No offense to his co-star, Mariska Hargitay, who is a doll and a very talented actor, but how has she racked up one Emmy and three nominations along with a bunch of SAG nominations? Meloni has given blood, sweat and tears to his art. (Anybody see the episode with Ellen Burstyn as his bipolar mom?) What’s the problem here? Too sexy for his own good?
Yes, Mr. wOw has interviewed Mr. Meloni. Yes, he is "all that." And more. (Before acting he toiled as a construction worker, bouncer, bartender and personal trainer.) So … sue me. Charisma aside, Meloni is also criminally underrated and shockingly un-honored.
I want this injustice to end.
And if it does, Mr. wOw won’t expect Mr. Meloni to leave his beautiful wife and two children. A hearty, manly handshake will be thanks enough.
Not.

I’m with you, Beth!
Thanks, Mr. Wow, for shining your spotlight on Christpoher. Maybe someone will finally take notice.
"Who does Christopher Meloni have to sleep with to get an award?"
ME, ME, ME Please. I’ll give him an award.
I so agree - I think he’s great. He was fabulous in Oz and is great in L&A each week. I’m with you Mr. W - he’s long overdue for some recognition.
That is the only show I still watch, occassionally, that’s "crime," because it’s not loud, violent, insane, and the music doesn’t drown out the actors, and because of Meloni, and his co-star.
Not one to ‘hit’ the award waves, I had no idea that he had not been recognized by his peers. That speaks volumes for the quality of acting today; actors don’t know drama when they live it.
Mr. Wow, I don’t believe Mr. Maloni will think your first sentence in the article is funny. Does that mean that actors and actresses who do get recognition have done so because they’ve "slept with" somebody? There’s no question he’s a very fine actor and deserves recognition. Always thought it was too bad he and Mariska never got together (in their roles as partners on the police force) - there’s that certain sexual tension between them and certainly she knows him better than anyone else.
Both actors keep themselves toned and fit and believable in their roles though the ad I saw where Mariska’s character is telling a man to "lick my boot" was shocking to me. I decided I didn’t care to watch that particular program. She may have been pretending to be a prostitute, but it made me very uncomfortable to know that children were seeing that ad which was overtly sexual.
I, too, don’t watch the program nearly as often as I used to - too much real violence in this world, don’t need to watch it on TV.
Back to Mr. Maloni, I hope he receives the recognition he deserves this year.
Dear Pdrde…the expression, "who do I have to blank" to—get a drink, gain access to a party, be recognized in some way, passed into the language at least 30 years ago. It’s not meant to be taken seriously. It’s an utterance of frustration. Though I am sorry you seemed to take it seriously.
Mr. Meloni will manitain his high moral standards, and hopefully pick up a statuette or two.
Dear Pdrde…believe it or not, this silly post was Mr. WoW’s way of trying to…get silly!—-before the president spoke and we were all plunged, one way or another into analyzing, praising or condemning his speech. The events in Haiti continue to cast a pall over most everything. I am so profoundly grateful for all I have, and always ashamed when I complain. Especially in times like these.
And even Mr. WoW often wonders where his sense of humor and fun has gone. Or is it "have gone?" This is what I get for leaving school at 15. Anyway, we all do our best. Life ain’t for sissies.
Dear Chrome…(or Miss Toe?) I don’t find "L&O: SVU" as graphic as some of the current crop. Or perhaps, sadly, even the sensitive Mr. WoW has become inured?
What bothers me, more and more, are the "ripped from the headlines" plots which are often—to Mr. WoW’s thinking—irresponsible. Not to mention unimaginative. What—these well-paid writers can’t think up a fresh idea? This irritant hasn’t stopped me from watching the show, as I do admire both lead actors and the rest of the cast. But I find myself grumbling a lot, and speaking sharply to the TV set.
