The 'American Idol' Twist: Something Unpredictable on Last Night's Show

The always entertaining "American Idol" was both predictable and surprising last night.
The predictable: The public has expressed their opinion — and we concur! Jorge Nuñez and Jasmine Murray were both eliminated on Wednesday night’s "American Idol." Nuñez is the 20-year-old bilingual singer from Puerto Rico, who lacked the vocals but tried to make up for it with his suave appeal. Murray, 16, had the look of a superstar but the vocals of a karaoke performer.
The surprising: A new rule! The judges now have the power to save someone who was voted off — thus override the public’s vote and allow that contestant to stay on the show. They can only exercise this power once and must do so before they reach the top five. We’re thrilled about this new rule. In the past the judges have disagreed with the public decision to eliminate contestants and couldn’t do anything about it.
Eleven contestants remain. The next elimination show is a biggy. Remember, it’s the top 10 who get to tour around the country after the show’s finale. Our prediction on who will stick around for a while: Adam Lambert, the 26-year-old gay rocker, and Danny Gokey, the 28-year-old widower with Christian soft-rock vocals. Next to be get the ax: Megan Corkey.

Adam and Danny will be there till the end.
I do not understand " Christian soft-rock vocals ", guess I am getting old and I just do not get "it".
In the same pick of words, is it needed to describe Lambert as a "gay" rocker? Does this make his voice less or more grand? If it does not make a difference why tell us about his sexual preferences?
I thought Paula’s back was in very bad shape and she took meds for the pain…but every year she tries to steal the show by dancing when a singer is on stage…I think it is very distracting…jmho! So far, I don’t think this is one of AI’s best year….maybe it’s just too soon yet, it usually gets better when they narrow it down to the final five. Right now…I don’t have a final five!
I give Paula Abdul loon status.
I predicted Nunez would go…..he was awful…shouldn’t have gotten as far as he did. And the pretty 16 year old girl deserved to go as well, she was o.k. but more of a church singer. Adam Lambert has all the makiings of a super star and should win…but who knows. (If you can get past all his personal affectations, Adam looks remarkably like Elvis Presley…in Elvis’ youth of course.)
