Barbara Walters: 'I Can Never Be Mad at Rosie'

It’s long been rumored that "The View" hostess Barbara Walters has no love for her former colleague, Rosie O’Donnell.
Walters, however, promised this weekend that those tales couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, she just adores Rosie, who ruffled a few feathers when she left the ABC gabfest a few years back.
Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Walters insists she’s very much in touch with her old friend: "I can never be mad at Rosie. I just saw her; she was doing a reading of a one-man play that Nora Ephron had written, and I went backstage and gave her a hug." Walters also told the paper that she has nothing but respect for another controversial "View" host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, whom Walters habitually cuts off. Explains Walters:
I think Elisabeth is so essential to the show. But, you know, Elisabeth talks very quickly and she’s very well informed. And sometimes you have to say, ‘Let me talk.’ That is somewhat the result of having five women with strong opinions. What we don’t do as much as we used to — it used to drive me bats — is talk over each other.
Walters sat down with the paper because she and her cohorts, including wOw’s Whoopi Goldberg, are filming in the city of angels this week. It’s a perfect fit, no?

This topic is always boring to me. I posted on another site regarding The View before joining wowOwow and it was an "effort" to engage in conversation about the same things every day…"Elisabeth’s skirt was too short…her jacket too tight"…and because it is a liberal site you can only imagine the names Elisabeth has been called for being a vocal republican. And then there are the three "commediennes."
However, this is about Barara Walters and I do have a few comments to make. Barbara Walters is a seasoned interviewer and for the most part, she does a good job. She also has to be very careful not to reveal her personal feelings about other people because it would be the kiss of death professionally. I personally believe that Barbara was glad Rosie left the show. Rosie tended to be argumentative, disruptive and too highly opinionated. Stating publically that she dislikes Rosie or holds a grudge against Rosie would not benefit Barbara Walters professionally. So, to say she likes Rosie is neither important or relevent in any way.
It’s the game they play.
Rosie is a intelligent realist with an open mind and heart. She came off a little brash at times, because she had to deal with Elisabeth. Sorry Barbara, Elisabeth is a small minded ignorant person. I stopped watching the View right after Elisabeth stabbed Michelle Obama in the back, at a luncheon for Cindy McCain. Elisabeth is the Rush Limbaugh of the View. I hope with this her 3rd pregnancy she will stay the heck home. It shouldn’t be to difficult to find and intelligent conservative with the ability to debate an issue without throwing a tantrum or crying. I’ve heard Elisabeth has been practicing more self control but that doesn’t make up for her lack of intelligence and world view on issues, she is a drag to every discussion. My favorite conservative is Peggy Noonan, don’t always agree with her point of view, but she is a class act.
And you think Joey is well informed??? Now that is hysterical!
Now Whoopi yes I would agree with that. She seems to MOST of the time know what Elizabeth is talking about…Joy is clueless 99.9% of the time!!!
Who said anything about Joy? Deburca was talking about Elisabeth. Is that how you defend Elisabeth’s lack of intelligent communication is to deflect away fro Elisabeth and turn your attack to Joy?
Why dont you explain to us why Elisabeth cant defend any of her views? Ill give you a hint…. She talks to Bill Getty and Sean Hannity before she goes on the air.
