Blondie Goes Brunette

An opening of a rock exhibit that would shock even The Rolling Stones

Photo Essay

The Brooklyn Museum in Brooklyn, NY, premiered the exhibit of photographs from the book, Who Shot Rock & Roll. wOw was there to experience the magic, the music and the art. Our own "Heart of Glass" almost exploded when we got to talk to Chris Stein (co-founder and guitarist of Blondie and noted photographer) about his own art. However, the highlight of the evening was when Blondie treated guests to a concert, turning the museum into a rock hall. The music was incredible, and the epitome of blonde, Debbie Harry, premiered her new, darker do. Click through this slideshow to see pictures from the concert and to read some of the quotes we got from Chris Stein.

I worship you, Debbie Harry.  Without you, there could have been no Madonna. (I suppose that’s an iffy compliment depending on how one feels about Madonna.)  I beg you…go hit the bottle, baby.  And I do mean peroxide.

Other than that, and I can attest to this because I saw you in person only five months ago, you look fabulous.  You’re a great talent too, no matter what’s up with your hair.

i think the hair looks nice. sometimes as one gets older one gets tired of the same old thing. if she likes it, i love it. it does look nice and really looks good on her. so let’s enjoy the change and quit telling her to go back to that old boring style. damn, i’m 50 now and don’t look have as good as she does. go debbie harry, go gf!

Actually it’s just a wig…she wore it in Blondie’s video for "Good Boys" back in 2003. I’ve seen photos from other concerts this week after the Brooklyn even and she is still as blonde as ever.
