'Britain's Got Talent' Star Susan Boyle Wows Ireland Audiences, Pays Tribute to Mother

Susan Boyle is back, wowing audiences in Ireland with her beautiful singing voice.
The "Britain’s Got Talent" singing sensation, who took second place in the competition, gave an audience in Belfast last night a real treat, with a ten-minute performance. She sang "Memory" from the musical "Cats," and "I Dreamed a Dream," from Les Miserables — the latter of which she first sang on the talent show just a few months ago, stunning the world with her extraordinary singing abilities. The crowd loved her! Reports say the sold-out show also featured nine other finalists from "BGT." The night before, Boyle took the stage at the O2 Arena in Dublin, where she dedicated her emotional performance to her mother. Both of Boyle’s parents were from County Donegal, Ireland, and Boyle credits her singing success to her mother, who recently died.
"She was only onstage for about ten minutes, but they were ten minutes I’ll never forget," one young female fan told Irish Central in Dublin. "I loved every second."
The Herald reports that there had been speculation that Boyle might not have performed in Dublin because she has canceled several dates on the tour leading up to that, due to exhaustion and her "fragile" state. Speculation that sudden fame was too much for the 48-year-old single Scottish woman has run rampant. She blew up at police in London and ended up in tears, and was indeed hospitalized after the "BGT" finals for exhaustion. But once again, she didn’t disappoint.
You can watch video of her Dublin performance here. We wish Susan Boyle the best of luck in her career. She should know she has a world of fans ready to support her!

‘And I’ll be in Scotland before ye’. Have a good trip, DeBurca. Ireland is on my bucket list, and no I won’t really be in Scotland anytime soon.
Peace and grace
Thanks! Just fyi, though, the British tabloids have been jerks re Susan. Actually, these Irish dates were the 17th and 18th concerts she appeared in - like the 11th and 12th in 10 days. She’s been working hard on the tour, not erratically skipping concerts like some of the tabloids have tried to say. She DID miss four concerts early on, close to when she was out of the hospital, but not since. The tabs REALLY hate that Susan Boyle is so popular and it had NOTHING to do with them!!!
Susan Boyle has her problems and to know she’s wowing audiences in spite of it all, well……….. words fail me. I wish I could see her.
Such a triumph of spirit. How to face adversity without being changed by it. In the US we are anxiously awaiting our chance to see her in person. I’ve heard she is amazingly charismatic. Thanks for nice article and all the comments, so we get a little taste of it. What a voice!
I just re-listened to her very first performance………..chills, tears run down my cheeks. It’s Rare in the World of music to be touched so deeply by a voice. It’s pure…….perfect pitch!
Can’t wait for her first CD………Hurry someone get her in a recording studio. For all her fame and glory I don’t think she’s made any money so far….Others have made a bundle off her talent. It’s her TURN.
