Can Liz Smith Save Lindsay Lohan? (Video)

Our Gossip Girl provides thoughtful advice to the talented, young actress.
This week, I share some wise advice with the young, gorgeous actress, Lindsay Lohan. Lohan, who is still heartbroken since her split with Samantha Ronson, may be sacrificing her career because of her silly flare-ups. Watch me on Fox News provide Lohan with much-needed guidance.

I am very much afraid that until Lindsay Lohan really understands who Lindsay Lohan is she is not capable of getting on with her life professionally or personally. It appears that her identity is the question uppermost in her mind. She keeps chasing after all the things Hollywood and those attached to it tell her will make her happy. It hasn’t worked so far. I’m not suggesting another stint in rehab. I think she needs to pull up stakes and go somewhere very quiet sort it out and pray. The Monastery at Regina Laudis in Conneticut is just where the actress Delores Hart found her true identity. Stranger things have happened.

Great, advice Liz and Mary.  Although if she starts behaving altogether I won’t get my celeb points on facebook, lol.

I’v heard from several sources how talented Lohan is but I fail to see it - perhaps I am too old or haven’t seen enough of her work. As for Rupert Everett he will work longer in character parts than he would in leading man roles. And I will see him in anything he chooses to do.

I agree with Bethany - where’s the talent? I sure don’t see it. I see an obnoxious brat that has burned her bridges. What’s this bit about giving Lohan “guidance”? What she needs is a kick in the derriere. Rupert? Awwww, he’s a sweetie. A friend told me he’s such an animal lover. So in my book he can do no wrong!

Bethany and Andrea, "talent" in Hollywood too often refers only to looks and not to actual acting ability. Witness the ridiculous lengths people go to with plastic surgery out there, both young and older.

You can tell the REAL talents because their looks fade with age (if they were even all that good-looking to start with), but their star does not.

I don’t think Lohan is anything special.

I’m not sure anyone cares much about Lindsey Lohan anymore.  It’s been awhile since she has done anything of note professionally.  Of course, the right role could change all of that - maybe.  I’ve not been knocked out by her talent either.  I’m not saying she has none, I just haven’t seen anything that showcases her as anything other than a cute kid.  To me, she has become yet another person who is famous for being famous.

I think it’s great advice from someone who knows the inside of how it works in the movie business.
