Carrie Prejean Miss California Controversy | 05/05/2009 12:40 pm
Carrie Prejean Photos May Cost Her Miss California Title (Video)

Will the topless photographs of Carrie Prejean that surfaced the Internet cost Miss California her title?
According to MSNBC, Prejean’s contract prohibits her from being "photographed in a state of partial or total nudity."
While Prejean insists the photographs were taken when she was 17 and were leaked to the Hollywood gossip website TheDirty.com just recently, the tabloid frenzy surrounding this can’t possibly be good for the beauty queen.
Since saying she opposes same-sex marriage at the Miss USA competition, Prejean has been the object of harsh criticism — but also garnered praise from conservative groups. Prejean also launched last week a television ad campaign with the National Organization for Marriage that showed her now-infamous response at the Miss USA competition.
Her answer, many speculate, cost her the Miss USA title. Will this latest controversy also hurt her?

But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you

*smile* god bless you, ha bibi! i will pray for you to find god and the true meaning of jesus.
For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

she should read her own bible and start living by it. she’s a cherry picker.
I don’t think this changes anything as far as the original situation goes.
However, assuming these photos have not been photo shopped or something, she left herself wide open for criticism when she allowed them to be taken. You can’t expect these things to stay hidden forever, especially if you place yourself in the public eye. When will people learn? If you keep your skirts clean (as my mother used to put it), there is nothing for people to find.
Yep, you can smoke crack and play hide the cigar with the intern and be President.
But show your boobs! Girl, you’re outta here!
a conservative breast is not offensive, deburca.
I do believe she had every right to truthfully answer the question that was presented to her and not be penalized. Perez Hilton was horribly out of line. Even if I were a gay rights activist I would ask him to, please, just go away.
I also believe that topless photos (which do qualify as "partial nudity") are a really bad idea if you are going to be unhappy when they surface at some point. Because they will, sooner or later. If you don’t have a problem with that, fine, I guess. But you need to be responsible for your personal actions. If they were taken recently, in violation of her contract, she should lose her title. If they were taken when she was just 17…eww.
Bill Clinton makes my skin crawl.
I don’t find any of the above ideas to be mutually exclusive.
Deena,
I agree with you. She has the right to her beliefs, and she answered the question honestly. Since she is now the spokeperson for a conservative family group, she really put herself out there. She shouldn’t have been surprised that someone leaked these pictures.
You can also send thousands of people to the middle east to die for no real cause except foreign oil. So there you have it, Martha.
