Carrie Prejean Miss California Controversy | 05/05/2009 12:40 pm
Carrie Prejean Photos May Cost Her Miss California Title (Video)

Will the topless photographs of Carrie Prejean that surfaced the Internet cost Miss California her title?
According to MSNBC, Prejean’s contract prohibits her from being "photographed in a state of partial or total nudity."
While Prejean insists the photographs were taken when she was 17 and were leaked to the Hollywood gossip website TheDirty.com just recently, the tabloid frenzy surrounding this can’t possibly be good for the beauty queen.
Since saying she opposes same-sex marriage at the Miss USA competition, Prejean has been the object of harsh criticism — but also garnered praise from conservative groups. Prejean also launched last week a television ad campaign with the National Organization for Marriage that showed her now-infamous response at the Miss USA competition.
Her answer, many speculate, cost her the Miss USA title. Will this latest controversy also hurt her?

she was topless in a pair of pink panties and nothing else. that is not backless - that is almost naked, wearing a pair of sexy lingerie panties.
conservatives are not saints either, i see the same attacks from conservatives towards democrats…. and no, this is about her lying on her entrance application.
lol, when?
ah, yes… when someone disagrees with you, most of them will tell you why. it’s not demonization - it’s called disagreeing.
Those panties had as much material as a bathing suit. You do not know if she was topless, like I said, there is coverage that allows for shots like that. Big freakin deal…
Yep..not too pretty all of that hateful attacking from the left…how funny that you would allow ANY woman to have to undergo what she did by Musto and Perez…no, not funny…typical of liberals.
Oh…and marriage is between a male and a female.
i dont care. partially nude means partially nude - meaning not all covered up. her tits had no cloth - she was partially nude even if she put her arm over her nipples.
marriage is between two people who love one another.
Nope there are covers for those type of pictures Lemon Tea…I know…I have modeled for years…back in the day. She showed no more than a bathing suit allows for. But you really don’t care about that she just pisses you off in general.
Mostly because she believes that civil unions are for gays and traditional marriage is betweem a male and a female…and lot of other people and states belive the same thing.
*hugs* and i love your human heart, gramma. humanity and compassion and logic seem to be in short supply on this website - but i can see you are a treasure chest of wisdom and love.
There is no point about her having big boobs or not…She is a beauty and women get jealous, they attack. Being beautiful is a wonderful asset. In todays world there is no excuse for any woman not to look her best.
To say that women do not have additional power from the beauty that they can assert is a travisy and insult to us all. There is no reason that both brains and beauty should not be a goal for all women.
There was no Porno pics Kris…get a grip.
i do not find fake breasts, bleached hair, stained orange skin, or an anorexic skinny body to be at all attractive.
and a lot of people don’t.
and most people wouldn’t find her intolerance to be a beautiful, nor endearing quality.
NOTE TO THE YOUNG WOMEN WHO MAY BE VYING FOR A "MISS AMERICA TITLE": Nude/topless photos=Bad Idea.
NOTE TO ANYONE WHO PLANS TO REFER TO THEIR "CHRISTIAN VALUES" ON NATIONAL TELEVISION: Nude/topless photos=Bad Idea
I am now, as I ever have been, in the corner of "I might not agree with what you say, but I’d be willing to give my life to protect your right to say it". This is how I feel about Miss Prejean’s expression of her opinion. Anyone who has read any of my replies here on wOw knows what I personally think of what she said…I couldn’t disagree with her more…But, she answered the question she was asked. This is not why she should lose her crown. The photos, however, are the sole reason she should be stripped (ahem…no pun intended) of her crown.
Yes, Christianity is about forgiveness,;but I haven’t heard of Prejean even speaking to the less-than-wise decision to pose. She broke her contract—simple as that. This regrettable decision she made, in the wake of her speech about values, does smack of hypocrisy. While I am not necessarily disparaging this young woman’s sincerity regarding her beliefs, I can’t help but note that actions do speak SO MUCH LOUDER than words. As we say in the south:"Sugar, I don’t think I’d have done that!". It takes neither a rocket scientist nor a historian (remember Vanessa Williams) to know that such photos are a violation of contest rules.
Melanie, well said. It does not matter that it is hypocritical for the pageant to parade these girls around half-naked and then turn around and demand that they do not do anything that hints of indecency. Rules are rules.
Miss Prejean’s explanation for the photos is that she is a model and she sometimes is in a position to take these types of pictures. Well, then in the interest of full disclosure, shouldn’t she have brought these pictures to the attention of the pageant organizers - assuming they were taken for a legitimate purpose? If she hid the fact that these pictures existed, then one could argue she knew they would be damaging to her Miss America dreams.
Carrie should happily hand that title pack to the low lives in the Miss California organization.
The photo I’ve seen could be hung in an art gallery or on the cover of a glamour magazine. This hardly seems racy coming from California were a "G" string is considered formal wear. There was enough material in those panties to make three of your typical pageant "G" string bikinis…. racy????
Carrie stepped on sacred ground with her comments and now Mario Lavandeira (Hilton) and the Miss California organization featuring a former bikini strutter Miss something-or-the-other, Shanna Moakler are on a smear campaign. If Donald Trump doesn’t do something fast his whole Miss Universe franchise is going down the toilet with Lavandeira, Moakler and who ever else in the Miss California organization is part of this ugly conspiracy.
Thanks Jerry…great post, to the heart of the matter here.
This is all about a special interest group engaging in all out demonization of opinion. They did not get the public affirmatiom of their pet project and have targeted and bullied this woman because of it.
