Carrie Prejean says steamy photographs of her "have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."

Prejean — the 21-year-old Miss USA runner-up whose remarks on same-sex marriage garnered harsh critism — said in a statement today that the images that ended up on the internet on Monday were "mean-spirited attacks."

I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.

The statement comes after the Hollywood gossip website TheDirty.Com featured "exclusive images" of Prejean in bright pink panties and seemingly topless. The website describes the image as "Self-proclaimed bible thumper Miss California, Carrie Prejean, should start pointing the finger at herself for her own indiscretions … Looks like your Dirty photo shoot makes you a sinner too …"

Why would we expect anything less from Carrie Prejean’s critics? I am sure that if those same people saw similar pictures of models they like, the photos would then be considered art!

As many times as this same type of thing has happened to others (such as Vanessa Williams) did she really think she would be exempt?

Well, of course she thought she’d be exempt!  She’s a "Christian!"  Albeit a Christian with breast implants, bleached blonde hair, Hollywood-white bonded teeth, and soft-core porn in her background … but still, a self-righteous Christian.

As a liberal Christian I’ll tell you why we, as Christians, are bashed so much.  The Christian Coalition and the GOP make us look like a bunch of hypocritical haters who use bible verses when it is convenient but ignore the rest.  They have made Chrisians look like fools in the eyes of just about everyone else.  Someone needs to give those idiots the boot so we can get back to the real teaching of Christ - love for God and our fellow man, not HATE.

Own up to the photos Carrie and stop trying to say everyone hates me because I’m a Christian, they don’t…..although I’d fathom a guess that some dislike you for being a hypocrite :O

C. Aune, how is she a hypocrite?  Because she feels marriage is between a man and a woman but will model and pose for pictures?  How is that being a hypocrite?  Please explain b/c Im sorry I dont agree…

Topless, porno photos and breast implants paid for by the pagent! Sounds like the dregs of humanity to me. Walk the walk - her views on marriage are not nearly as important as her actions. This woman should take responsibility for her acts and move on and stop seeking publicity and fame!

Ok she had this done before she was Miss CA, so how was is paid for by the pagent?  Have you seen the picture?  She was standing to the side w/ her arms covering her breasts…Was it in good taste, not really, but she is a model and they do pose for those type of pictures.  Tonight on "Make me a Supermodel" they are doing nude photos…it happens.

I dont think she should have her crown taken away from Miss CA or 2nd runner up b/c she posted for those photos before she became Miss CA

I still don’t understand why this young woman is still catching so much flak for having expressed herhonest opinion after having been specifically asked for it.

Agree with her, disagree, or choose your own path. But she has a right to her own thoughts, and let’s not forget that she was ASKED for her opinion, with no way to avoid answering. So her options were to either answer honestly, lie outright, or skirt the issue. I think she was set up.

What’s the big deal…she has pictures of her showing her topless…re-read the posts on Janet J yesterday….many said showing breasts are not sexual and there is nothing wrong with it…so I guess Carrie has nothing to be ashamed of…topless or her opinions!!!

The things that you do in your past will come back to haunt you.  She had the right to her opinion, but did she seriously think that people were not going to find things to discredit her.  We have the breast implants and now the photographs.

The problem that I have is that she took topless pictures as a teenager.  As a parent, I find that troubling.

Troubling..maybe?  But it seems she has grown up to be a beautiful, educated independant thinking young woman in spite of it!

No one isn’t saying that she has the right to her opinion and her beliefs.  But she’s a young woman now, she need to realize that sometimes when you state your beliefs that people are going to do everything that they can to discredit you.
