Carrie Prejean Photos on Website 'Mocks Me for My Christian Faith'

Miss USA runner-up says racy topless photographs that ended up on TheDirty.com ‘have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith’

Carrie Prejean says steamy photographs of her "have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."

Prejean — the 21-year-old Miss USA runner-up whose remarks on same-sex marriage garnered harsh critism — said in a statement today that the images that ended up on the internet on Monday were "mean-spirited attacks."

I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.

The statement comes after the Hollywood gossip website TheDirty.Com featured "exclusive images" of Prejean in bright pink panties and seemingly topless. The website describes the image as "Self-proclaimed bible thumper Miss California, Carrie Prejean, should start pointing the finger at herself for her own indiscretions … Looks like your Dirty photo shoot makes you a sinner too …"

I stand by what I said.  If this young woman would’ve said that she supported gay marriage,  and these photographs surfaced then she should’ve been flack from the other side.

you are 100% right.

i can imagine their words now…

"of course she supports gay marriage! look at how she conducts herself in that fashion - she has no respect for herself, how could she have any respect for the sanctity of a loving marriage?"

*hummmmm*

Funny you should say this — of course, about big bad conservatives. Oh, dear, here’s reality again…libs going after her crown because of her opinion:

Don’t you have a bee in your bonnet today?  I made statement that are my feelings.  I’m not going to back down.  I do feel if what was the other way around, the other side would be going after her.  We all have a right to our opinions; after all, don’t you have your own opinions?  Last I remember, we are able to express ourselves on this website.

Of course we’re all able to express our opinions. It’s just nice when those opinions reflect reality. ;) The fact of the matter is, when a conservative opinion is espoused, the speaker is crucified. To pretend "well, it would have happened the other way around!" is baseless, since it doesn’t!

oh please… anything a liberal, democrat or moderate says anything against conservatives, republicans, or their war against equal rights, this place turns into a blood bath with people talking about drinking kool aid and being brainwashed by the liberal media.

give me a break! it happens on each side, don’t pretend it doesnt.

Lemon, if you had read our exchange, you would have seen that we were talking about things on a slightly larger scale than this online community, not the comments that both sides here make; the difference, of course, is that both sides are represented here (by people like you and me), whereas only one side is generally represented in the domain we were discussing — and, when anyone else dares to enter it, they are viciously attacked.

I think its pretty sad for anyone to say that giving her honest opinion on how she feels about marriage is wrong.  That is her opinion and from what I can remember, California is the USA and we are entitled to our opinions.  I think this Hilton guy is pond scum for bashing her b/c she doesnt believe what he believes.  I hope he has lost ratings b/c of this whole issue.  I am glad she answered the question honestly and didnt give the answer everyone else would have given.

She is a model and models take pictures, I havent been able to see the pictures as that website it blocked from the computer I am at…so not sure if they are topless or just look to be topless…

It was a typical topless model pic - topless, with strategic obstruction. Tantalizing, and more common than it should be.

There is nothing wrong with the pictures, she was modeling underwear and nothing was exposed.  She was paid to take the pictures, did she expect them to never be posted anywhere?  They were branded with the label of the underwear company.  No different than Victoria Secret.

This is a non-story and both sides are spinning it to their advantage.  Pictures that you take for money that make it onto a website are not "mocking your faith". Stop trying to get more free publicity for your new ‘cause’.

These pictures are not obscene or questionable in any way so stop trying to use them as if they should embarass her.

Both sides need to grow up and get over it.

The pictures aren’t "mocking her faith", but the manner of presentation and accompanying text is. It’s not Prejean who made this an issue — it was those who posted them calling her a hypocrite for modeling clothes and opposing gay marriage (although what the contradiction is, I’ve yet to see…).

LOL stupid move.  If she really was 17 then those responsible for the release of these photos are all guilty of distributing and hosting child pornography.  It shouldn’t be long before some indictments come out, which I’ll wager will overshadow what they’re thinking now is their big play on this poor girl who only has her parents’ opinion after all….

As usual, Christian conservatives whine when they catch flak for expressing their faith. Well call the “wah”mbulance. The religion Christ founded wouldn’t have gotten far if these crybabies were all Christ had to pick from for his first followers. So you get mocked for expressing your beliefs. Your Lord was crucified for his. Deal.
