Carrie Prejean Photos on Website 'Mocks Me for My Christian Faith'

Carrie Prejean says steamy photographs of her "have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."

Prejean — the 21-year-old Miss USA runner-up whose remarks on same-sex marriage garnered harsh critism — said in a statement today that the images that ended up on the internet on Monday were "mean-spirited attacks."

I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.

The statement comes after the Hollywood gossip website TheDirty.Com featured "exclusive images" of Prejean in bright pink panties and seemingly topless. The website describes the image as "Self-proclaimed bible thumper Miss California, Carrie Prejean, should start pointing the finger at herself for her own indiscretions … Looks like your Dirty photo shoot makes you a sinner too …"

Thank you Helen - let’s never forget the lion’s dens - the witch burnings - the profiling Muslims are experiencing right now.

I mean - God’s on the money, he’s in the pledge of allegiance, I saw recently a post detailing how God’s in all the state constitutions, the holidays fall on the Christian calendar, oaths end in so help me God - for pity’s sake,  be grateful for his blessings!

I felt so proud when Elizabeth Warren cited Wiccans in the poem at the inauguration, and it took going to court to allow pagans and other religions to have their symbol displayed on their headstone at Arlington. Yes, there are pagans in the military, and their families had to go to court to have that recognized after they were killed in service of their country.

I want holidays on the Wheel of the Year! I want God off the money! We are not JUST a Christian nation!

It seems like everyone has something to say…but that not too many people really thought through what they’re saying very much.  Most of the critics have said some things that seem to be reasonable when picking apart someone who has an opinion about something and then has thier life scrutanized for it (everyone has skeletons if you look hard enough for them), and,  most of the supporters have done right by standing up in her defense for sharing her opinion when "she" was asked for it(She didn’t volunteer it blindly).  I’m going to summarize it up for both sides in a nutshell.

Racy photo?…depends on your individual "opinion" on what raciness is.  In some cultures a woman would be severly punished for that photo and in others they wouldn’t bat an eyelash, it’s all up to personal interpretation.  I will say this to anyone criticizing her, "If you are not sending in complaints to the networks who show womens undergarment ads, or are not voicing your opinion about all women with implants, you need to think about the word hypocracy."  Who knows but her why she may have had implants, and if the reason was for vanity then that makes her like the rest of us human beings who buy nice clothes, cars, and homes, because we want to feel good about ourselves.  But does that make her any less of a christian?  Isn’t one of the good old christian sayings "Let those without sin cast the first stone."

   As for her supporters…

Let’s put things into perspective, really now.   Taking such a publicly righteous stance on a topic as as inflamatory as marriage and who should and shouldn’t be allowed to do so, and not to mention, doing so in a nationally televised forum(Beauty Pageant…calling it what it is) where you are asking a panel to judge you in order to win a contest…you may just get some scrutiny when you open your mouth to try and appear smart and not just pretty.

Let me ask all of you supporters this really simple question, if you answer "yes" to it then you are being just as petty as those bashing her.  Have you ever vocally criticized someone for thier opinion?  Someone who takes the stance she did is getting just that same treatment, it just happens to be on a larger scale because when she shared her opinion it happened to be on national television.  When you take such a stance in when in the public spotlight, be prepared for every part of your life to be scrutinized, all your decisions to be questioned, and all your questionable choices to come to light.

Now, what is my "opinion" on this situation?  I believe that she was asked a question that shouldn’t have been asked in that forum, it’s a "BEAUTY" pageant not an application to MENSA.  I also believe she answered the question honestly and I give her credit for doing so when she was definitely put on the spot.  But, do I think if she had breast augmentation that she should’ve been in the Miss USA "BEAUTY" pageant to begin with, NO! I thought this pageant was about natural beauty and I’m sorry, my understanding is that breast implants are not natural.  So in the end I see flaws in the system as a whole and not just with her.

Lastly, Just because she’s a christian, that doesn’t make her perfect.  In fact when looking at christianity as a faith, one should realize that being human means that we are fallable and make mistakes all the time.  And really…If we are all THAT concerned about what it is that she said, we should clean out our own closets lest we be judged under the same scrutiny we judge others with.

I’m sorry; you may not have seen it the other way around but I have.  I’ve seen people in my own area do things and because of who he/she, everyone wants to play it down.   "You know that we all "fall short".  However, that same thing happens to someone who happens to liberal in their thinking.  They are moraless, shameful, etc.

That’s why I’m not backing down.

Didn’t a Miss USA contestant have similiar photos posted on the internet a couple of years ago. Oh, that’s right she was drunk and partying and not claiming to be a christian.  People, get real, being a follower of Christ does not make one perfect.  And yes, we should not be surprised by the media making a big deal out of this, the Bible warns us that we will be persecuted for our faith.

No one is being persecuted for their faith.  Hypocrisiy is running amuck.  This is all about business.  Both sides are getting exposure.  The right wing lunatic fringe anit gay movement is using this dumbell to make a point.

She was not thinking at all when she responsded to the question.  She did not answer the question she gave her opinion on gay marriage.

Everyone does not agree with her and we know that and she should have known.

So what she is not the first person to get into hot water over a beauty contest.

Who cares?

No what they do Ms Prejean is tell you not to parade topless in a public place where photos may be taken. You 15 minutes are up.

This is probably the first time she has ever been criticized in her life and believes this is what the Bible says about being persecuted for righteousness sake.  I watched about 30 minutes of the pageant and noticed they now market the whole shebang as "not your mother’s pageant".  In other words it doesn’t even pretend to be about anything of substance anymore.  So, if she wants to be a woman of faith, I would not suggest trying to market that idealogy in a sexually based business.  Can’t have her cake and eat it too.

Besides maybe she’ll get a job at Fox as a result.  She’s shown she’s qualified.

a good suggestion!

I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

hmmm….

Maybe we can look forward to a line of naked Christmas cards and topless photos with the Easter Bunny that share with us the true meaning of spirituality and faith.

I guess the indicator of the state of not just Prejeans faith shows a lack of acceptance for who god made her.  The implants reveal a train of thought that people are unacceptable as god made them.  When you are that young and beautiful and still don’t accept yourself ‘as is’ how can you hope to accept others just as they are.  I hadn’t considered this bit of gossip circulating ‘news’ departments until now.  Just sort of let it go in one ear and out the other.  Regardless of my own prejudices, if you ponder this concept of girls (and she really is a girl) feeling the need to get breast implants. .. We’ve got to look at our culture, is it time to revive the women’s movement?  Maybe if we older women start walking that way, the younger ones will join.

Just random thoughts generated from watching the View too much and learning to ponder from different perspectives.  Sry, bout the Fox comment this girl doesn’t deserve scorn,  she’s there to make us think, "who is my sister"?

You know…one could pay for their tuition to divinity school by stripping…but it’s just NOT a good idea. PLEASE Ms. Prejean, quit trying to hide your naughty bits behind the Bible (especially since you had breast augmentation surgery)!
