Pageant officials are "absolutely stunned" after the gossip website TMZ claims it obtained proof that Carrie Prejean lied to them when she said the topless photograph circulating on the Internet was the "only" inappropriate picture.

TMZ reported that Prejean sent an e-mail to Keith Lewis, co-director for the Miss California USA pageant, saying:

This was when I was 17 years old. I was a minor. It was when I was first getting into the modeling world, being naive, and young. I shouldnt [sic] have taken the photo of me in my underwear. There are no other photos of me. This was the only one I took.

So, on Wednesday, pageant officials were surprised when TMZ told them they obtained three other racy pictures of the Miss USA runner-up.

"I’m absolutely stunned. This completely changes things for us," Lewis said in a statement to "Access Hollywood." "Yesterday, we thought she had explained things accurately. We need to revisit this issue with her."

While pageant officials contemplate Prejean’s crown, the Miss California runner-up has offered her opinion.

Tami Farrell e-mailed pageant officials and TMZ claims to have a copy of the e-mail, which reportedly reads, "I would never want to steal someone’s spotlight … Her [Carrie] beliefs are not what is in question, but her contractual obligations to the Miss California USA program."

Meanwhile, Vivid Entertainment, an international adult film company, has offered Prejean a $1 million contract.

On Monday, TheDirty.com posted a photograph of Prejean, at age 17, in pink underwear and topless.

Sometimes, things that we do in the past will come back to bite us in the butt.

Especially when you know you’ve already broken the agreement before you even enter the cattle call.

Gee, this is getting more interesting by the day….another photo or two. I don’t know but my religious up bringing would tell me that it is not proper to pose for such photos!

Mel Berg, totally agree. I’m grateful my kids are in their 20s, before the explosion of new ways of communicating. My siblings have all warned their kids, especially daughters, about the dangers of posting that which adults would consider inappropriate.

Joleen, with all the new technology and what the kids are doing like putting out pics where they are scantly clad or worse it is truly scary. Wasn’t there a girl who killed herself over some pictures that got out on the Internet? I hope all parents are warning their kids.

It seems unlikely that a photographer would take just one pohotograph and then say, " Okay, that’s it for today".   Looks like Miss Carrie has some more splainin’  to do!

That is HYSTERICAL! I never thought about it that way, but it seems so obvious now! Makes me seriously wonder why anyone in the pagent committee believed her line about only one picture to begin with!

seriously.

if it was for personal gratification, i can see if there was only 1 pic  (and even then - what woman other than marilyn monroe can say they only had to take 1 pic and they looked fabulous?). but for fashion modeling? they take rolls and rolls of you in the same outfit, in different positions, different environments, ect….

Maybe she’s not a stupid blonde………don’t you think this could be the best publicity she could get……..

It doesn’t cost her a dime.  She will reap plenty of $$$$$$$$

I don’t even know what the winner looks like, where she is from or what her name is.  So who is the real winner?

Yes, let’s all - all of us, every one of us women out here, young, old - with or without kids, let’s all judge her.

Having the contestants sign an 12 page morality agreement and then having them prance about in little bikinis and bathing suits with high heels, doing full 360 degree turns - mind you- so that we can see their body fat/mass height ratio and how high, firm and round the buttocks are as well as the breasts, are they large enought? perky enough? etc….

And do this, to be judged by the "judges" who’s own morality codes are not in question…  Oh, these discussions on these boards are precious.

Have you seen some of the other comments by those that profess to be good Christians of good moral values?  Blasting her as a whore?

Judge, judge, judge….

I cannot cast the first stone but it is good to see so many who can.

I’m sure Heaven will be filled with the best of the best.

Gee Chris, I have never read where she was "blasted as a whore", where are you reading this on WOW, I must have not seen that. I also think it is one thing to put yourself out there as a good and moral Christian and then lie to try to cover what you did previously! Wouldn’t the Christian thing to do be just come clean on everything?

Deena B.

Your points are all well taken.  I deplore beauty pagaents on every level.  I can’t even remember the last one I watched.

But she did clearly lie when she signed her contract (a legal docuament).  She lied again when she said that was the only photo.  At this point, who knows whether she was indeed only 17 when the photos in question were taken.  The more lies one tells, the deeper we dig that hole.

Forgiveness?  Absolutely.  But one also has to own one’s mistakes and realize that when we do something we are ashamed of, it will come back to haunt us.
