Dancing With the Dead: Mr. wOw Is Not Rushing to Michael's Last Moonwalk

Well, the reviews are in on "This Is It," the Michael Jackson rehearsal footage that has been put together as sort of a special feature film. (In two weeks it’ll leave theaters and head for a DVD package near you.)

So, is it the greatest movie ever made, per Elizabeth Taylor’s overwrought, over-the-top tweets, or is it closer to the mess of Lou Lumenick’s devastating New York Post review?

Probably somewhere in between and much depending on how you felt about Jackson when he was more or less alive. His rabid fans will love it, and like Miss Taylor, feel cinema history has been made. (I wish Elizabeth cared a little bit more about her own legendary career and less about Michael Jackson’s legacy. But that’s La Liz, loyal to a fault.)

Sony will make a bundle, no matter what.

Mr. wOw is being – gasp! – judgmental. He hasn’t seen the movie and is not likely to plunk down 11 bucks for the pleasure. We have very little interest in the final gasps of Mr. Jackson. Just wasn’t a big fan. As soon as MJ started looking like a tranny version of Diana Ross, all interest ended. I mean, we had Miss Ross. How much more tranny could we go? As an artist, he just wasn’t Mr. wOw’s shot of vodka. Millions of other disagree.

I do have sympathy for Michael as a person, but he chose his own path. Like Judy and Marilyn, his constant cries of "I had a terrible childhood, I can’t help myself!" wore thin. Even if those childhoods were terrible, people need to grow up and deal. Especially if they are on the receiving end of adulation, wealth and the opportunity to seek the best therapy.

Big P.S. Will people please stop paying attention to Joe Jackson? Maybe he will go away. Though I suppose that’s impossible with the likes of Al Sharpton calling the dysfunctional patriarch a great person. "Imagine anybody criticizing a man for being a stern father!" exclaimed the Rev. Al recently.

Uhhhh … Michael said Joe beat him, which goes beyond "stern." The Rev. wants it both ways. He lauds Michael, but essentially calls him a liar.

Michael hated his father. And he’d be disgusted to see Joe Jackson praised now, as some beacon of good parenting. Though he’d be not at all surprised to see how the elder Jackson has profited from his son’s death.

Next come the psychics on Oprah "channeling" Michael with La Toya "verifying" it’s Michael. Followed by the Seance album….

I asked my daughter once, if you were in a dark room and saw Micheal Jackson’s face coming towards you, would you be scared?

Heck Ya!  She said.  I have to agree.  The surgery’s had made him look freakish and scary.

Go’s to show ya what too much money and no common sense can do to a person.

Gosh, Mr. Wow, I have now agreed with you twice in the last 2 weeks, which is unbelievable for me, at least.  I just think it is disgusting for anyone related or attached to MJ in any way to try to make money off of him after he has passed.  It just makes me believe what I already do about hollywood in general and it is sickening.  There was someone speaking yesterday (I will leave Her nameless) talking about this music vidio or whatever one might call it and that they are hoping it will be awarded for Best Documentary!  I could not believe my ears, but then again it is hollywood!  This is not a documentary, it is live tape of his rehearsals!  I just can not seem to get my head wrapped around the fact that people are rewarded for Whatever and it doesn’t even matter if you are alive or if you have even done it yet! Just call me "don’t get it"

Dear Frances England (love that name!!)   Don’t worry, you seem sensible and will no doubt go back to disageeing with me any second.

I saw this yesterday morning on The View.  If I remember correctly, it was Sherri—clearly quite moved by the film—who said she hoped it would win (or at least be nominated for) an Academy Award.  Barbara then remarked that if it were to be nominated, it would probably have to be in the documentary category.  Just adding this to the mix because I assume we both saw the same program, and my take on it is slightly different than yours.

I really have no axe to grind here one way or another; if I get a chance to see the video when it comes out, I will.  If not, my life with go on.

John, he will not be able to roll over and die until they can squeeze every single penny out of him!  What a sad and terrible way to make a living- out of the dead!

I think MJ was indeed abused.  Has no one else thought that he was gelded?  Notice how his voice never did change?  Typical castrato behavior to pursue little boys….

I’m not running out to get a ticket either Mr. wOw.  But the music in theatre surround sound should be fantastic—dancin’ in the seats good!

Have to say Mr. WOW you normally get everything wrong but this time you nailed it.   (Well, I wouldn’t call Diana Ross a tranny…just because female impersonators love to impersonate you does not turn you into the impersonator!)  And John G, I loved your comment.   For months we have been asking in our house *Is Michael Jackson still dead?*  Like hundreds of child stars, he had bad parenting and people who took advantage of his talent but at some point he began taking advantage of them and using them to cover up for his *issues*.   I do believe more probably than not he sexually abused those children whose parents were greedy enough to expose their kids to him for whatever benefits they thought could come their way.  At the very least he emotionally abused them.

But I also have to say, like Mr. WOW, that Larry King and his ilk should simply shun Joe Jackson.   I say him for about 2 minutes in the aftermath of Michael’s death on Larry King and he seemed to be enjoying his new found fame in the spotlight.   Most of this family has sucked off of Michael’s *talent* since he was 5.

But the bottom line for me is that I would not have paid $5.00 to see him live even if you gave me front row seats and VIP Parking and a police escort to get through the traffic.   I certainly will not pay to enrich his succubus family.   But yes…this hastily put together to milk one last dollar out of Michael Jackson film, will probably win an Oscar.   Another reason not to watch the Oscars and simply go online to see the fashions.

Dear Katharine Gray…thank you. Your first line made me laugh out loud, because I always think I get everything wrong.  I’m much more likely to accept criticism than praise.  Anyway, good to know we agree just this once.

For months we have been asking in our house *Is Michael Jackson still dead?*

That’s interesting Katherine because when I was a kid, we asked the same thing about Elvis.

For one who never believed any of the pedophile allegations, I think I will miss him.  MJ was not a normal human being and, undoubtedly, with his fetish to change his appearance, he perhaps also heightened his unhappy emotions regarding his childhood.  Joe Jackson is to be avoided at all cost and Michael’s direction for his mother, ALONE, to have custody of his children speaks volumes.

Michael, may you rest in peace.  Your dancing was devine.  Your little voice and then bigger voice charmed generations.

About the film, I think I will wait until it appears on the Internet or TV.  However, I am certain that many of his fans will think the film wonderful.  If there were discovered an unreleased film of a Beatles jam session, I would think it wonderful … sight unseen.
