Ed McMahon died this morning at the age of 86.

The television personality passed away at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, his agent told NBC. The super sidekick has endured a rough couple of years because of financial issues and health problems, but McMahon will be remembered as Johnny Carson’s right-hand man, host of several blooper shows and former host of "Star Search." He charmed America with his joie de vivre, smile and comedy. McMahon most recently appeared as a rapper in commercials for FreeCreditReport.com. Though he is no longer with us, McMahon’s signature catchphrase — "Here’s Johnny!" — will forever linger in our hearts.

Below is a classic episode from "The Tonight Show" with McMahon and Carson:

Yea had to die on my 50th?  I’m so sad, Ed, I grew up watching you on the Johnny Carson show.  My dad wasn’t the biggest fan, he has passed on too.  Rest in piece.

Heaven will be blessed having you Ed and Johnny there to entertain everyone…..they will be rolling in the clouds when you two put on a show.  I bet  ‘Carnac the Magnificent" will be waiting in his full attire for Ed and ready to answer the questions that have been sealed in a mayonnaise jar for many years!!  God Bless you both!

I met Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon many years ago crossing New York’s Fifth Avenue.  They were still filming "The Tonight Show," in NYC.  I thanked them for the hours of laughter and fun they provided me and my family.  Now - still saying, "Thank You,"  and praying for you, too.
