Following a long and arduous struggle with cancer, "Charlie’s Angels" star Farrah Fawcett has succumbed to the disease. Fawcett died in a Los Angeles hospital earlier today. She will forever be remembered as the iconic, blonde-haired beauty we came to know in the 1970s.

Fawcett was diagnosed with a rare form of anal cancer in 2006. Her fight for survival was chronicled in the NBC documentary, "Farrah’s Story." She is survived by her longtime companion, Ryan O’Neal, and son, Redmond O’Neal. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Farrah’s family and friends.

I am so glad that lovely lady is no longer hooked up to tubes.  Her days of pain are gone.  For the many fans and family who adored her, we should all try to focus on our many fond memories of Farrah now.  Yes, she will forever be remembered.

How sad. Farrah Fawcet, her hair style and smile, her iconic poster all over the boys’ dorm at school, she was a prominent face of the 70’s… time has passed so quickly.

I am glad that she is now at peace and her body is once again well and whole and beautiful.  I know she will be missed and I know growing up playing "charlies angels" was one of our favs.

I, too, am glad that she is no longer in pain.  She was, indeed, a 70’s "gal" loved by everyone.   I’m glad she was here for as long as she was.  She fought a tough and courageous battle.

Amazing woman. She, like Marilyn Monroe, wanted to be an actress, not just a sex symbol. Amazing that she stood up to Aaron Spelling and didn’t marry Ryan O’Neal. Much more complex and intelligent than most gave her credit for. I hope someone writes her full biography. I would like to know if she looked like the Lebanese or the Irish side of her family—or both!!Looks like a beautiful soul..and taken so young. "May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Farrah Fawcett, an icon of the 1970’s, was also a daughter, a sister, a spouse, a mother, a Texan, an accomplished actress, a dear friend to many, a lover of life and family.  Now free of pain and care, she can rest in the care of the angels.

I’m glad she is now out of pain, I was really hoping she would beat this.  I will never forget her or the impact she had on my hair.

So sad to hear, but yes, how nice that her body is finally relieved from such suffering.  I had heard that she and Ryan were going to tie the knot. It’s too bad thta they weren’t able to do that. She was definitely an icon I grew up with! I even had my hair styled like hers!

How said for her 91 year old father. Two daughters and a wife died before him. Apparently, he’s still so healthy, he was able to fly to California to visit her. I think he still lives in Texas.

So sad….especially that the news of her death has also be overshadowed by the massive attention being paid to Michael Jackson.

EXTRA had a very nice tribute to her on tonight that was obviously filmed before he passed.

While both are newsworthy as soon as his story broke the media seem to have alredy forgotten her.

How sad, her death. She was a beautiful, talented woman who left this life much too soon. She is to be so admired that she bravely fought the good fight until the very end, dying peacefully and pain free.

When I first hear about Farrah’s illness it was like, not another Angel with cancer.  Poor Ryan, he’s in remission himself.  She’d just lost her mother, what more was this poor beautiful woman going to have to indure.

I feel so sad, I’ve been crying on and off all day about Farrah and Michael.

Farrah was my idol as a young woman, I got my hair done like her’s when I was 17,

I don’t think there’s one thing she’s done I haven’t like, the "Burning Bed" was eye opener for millions of American Women, it gave them the power to fight back (not to the exteme as in the move), it gave them a sense of empowerment and the disclaimmer at the end told women where to go for help.  She was outstanding.

She and Ryan had a storybook love, they always came back together, they were ment to be.

Ryan, Red, I’m so very sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you, and my tears are for her.

Yesterday was the day I had been dreading.  For the past weeks I have been nervous to open wowowow for fear of reading the words that Farrah was gone.  I had the wonderful opportunity to train Farrah during the sit com that she did with Ryan.  She was that rare beauty that you just couldn’t stop starring at.  We did step aerobics in her office and I just couldn’t believe that I was working out across from her.  But her beauty was beyond the smile and the hair.  She was kind, warm and just so nice.  I think the pain we are also feeling is that Farrah and Michael were part of an era that is no longer.  May the memories of them and so many others stay strong in our minds.  Rest in peace as you both are now in Gods hands.
