Jane Wagner Gives In to Temptation …

Jane Wagner
Oh, yes! I’m tempted, in fact, I’m going to get one. I’m tempted by so many gadgets — I just heard you can listen to the radio on your BlackBerry. That’s tempting. In fact, I seem most tempted by things I don’t really need. Even gadgets from infomercials — I’m not so guilty when I buy things now, because I feel I’m helping the economy in some way. I can think of myself as my own personal stimulus package to help out in this dark downturn.

I wish I had the means to be my own stimulus package during these dark times. I’ve given up on window shopping because when I see a gadget I want, I remember that running water and heat take precedent over iPods and Blackberries. Although, I do indulge myself when it comes to discount Broadway tickets. I’d prefer to support arts and the theatre than large corporations.

The only materialistic gadgets that DO truly tempt me are ones that store large amounts of music, HAH! I bet even I’D be surprised what I would probably do just to get one of those 80GB mp3 players (I prefer Sansas to iPods - sorry!) I also don’t see why everyone prefers things to be so TINY in this society. (Well, everything except maybe for that one thing I keep seeing ads on TV about late at night…).

…not sure where I was going with that. Temptation is baaaad. Especially when you’re a self-indulgent Sagittarius…

Go get one of those Shuffles, Jane. Also get the newest Blackberry Storm. I’m a Mac person, but between the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone, I’ve read the Blackberry Storm is better and has a smaller learning curve. I do not work at one of those stores.

Life is short! If you’re enjoying yourself ,want and can afford these gadgets go for it! I applaud you for contributing to the economy!

Dear Ms. Jane:  I actually know very little about electronic gadgets but one of my people has several and thinks they are just great.  Her favorite is an i-phone which does all sorts of magic…do you have one?  I’m not interested in having such items as I think they would be difficult to carry around and would get a bit dirty in my yard.  DtN (my new signature provided by Mugsy)

Hello!..This shows what a neophyte I am at my very first computer. Going back quite a few years, I would like, at long last, to thank Jane Wagner for her film about the little boy whose only friend was a feral cat. I was a young mom in those days, but I could recognize true art when I saw it. Thank you, Ms Wagner, and for all the beautiful writing you have done in your long collaboration with Lily Tomlin. Bless you both for much joy given. Frederica Winter
