Joan Ganz Cooney Still Shops the Way She Always Has
In response to: Remember shopping pre-Internet? What era/memory in the evolution of shopping do you think of most fondly?
I still go shopping for clothes the way I always did. When I was in high school in Phoenix, I went to Goldwater’s Department store (owned by Barry and his brother, Bob) where I knew the sales women and they would help me find whatever it was I was looking for. Now I go to Saks or Bergdorf where I have personal shoppers who help me find whatever it is I’m looking for. And then I go to a dressmaker for fittings of almost every jacket, dress, skirt and pants I buy. It’s very tiresome but cannot be done on the Internet.
