Joan Ganz Cooney Stops Herself From Hitting 'Snooze'

Joan Ganz Cooney
The first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning is how much I wish I could sleep for another hour and how much I dread getting up and doing my exercise routine.

Joan, all the recent research shows that if you are tiredlike this, what you need to do is (a) get up at exactly the same time every morning and (b) go to sleep earlier when you need more rest.  The other thing my doctor was very precise about is, the darker, quieter the room, the better.

Dear Joan, I just replied to this same question. I’m up at 2:55 A.M. each Monday - Friday. My first question is, "Where’s, my ‘Bear?’" (as in: Teddy) Still in bed or nose-dived to the floor? Then it’s up and off to work. Also remember what Mark Twain said about exercising: "The only exercise a person should take is acting as pall-bearer for people who exercise."
