Interrogating Kate Gosselin and Rush Limbaugh (Video)
Mr. wOw weighs in on interrogators Natalie Morales vs. Chris Wallace.

YouTube
Mr. wOw watched two interviews earlier this week. One was yet another sit-down on Fox News with Rush Limbaugh. His "interrogator" was Chris Wallace.
The other was Kate Gosselin’s TLC confessional – her Princess Diana moment, replete with tears and appropriate lighting. (Diana chose to allow some harshness, emphasizing her ravaged-victim-deer-in-the-headlights pose. Kate was softly lit, offsetting her bitch-on-wheels persona.)
The Limbaugh session was typical Fox softball. Chris Wallace was practically licking Limbaugh’s shoes. It was really just an excuse for Rush to vent on Obama – the president is trying to destroy the economy, "on purpose … he is a ‘man child,’ etc." Through it, Wallace ducked his head, smiled and all but blushed, as Limbaugh swelled with vitriol. Keith Olbermann (I’m not a big fan, but sometimes he is useful) did a moment-by-moment replay that is classic. It is probably on YouTube right now.
The whole thing was fascinating, like watching the malevolent aliens arrive in "V," and choose one clueless newsperson to become their PR outlet. (I’m thinking the fabulous ’80s miniseries "V," not the bland, plotless travesty that is currently airing on ABC.)
Oh, and beyond anything Rush said, there was the sight of his bare ankles. Mr. wOw does not want to see any of Mr. Limbaugh’s flesh. Wear socks, and a tie. (That fleshy neck is no treat.) Look, it’s OK for FOX to be conservative. I don’t mind that. Just say it, and quit the "fair and balanced" routine.
Mrs. Gosselin, the infamous, driving ego of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," was interviewed by Natalie Morales. And I must say, Ms. Morales did not give much quarter to Kate. This was a relentless hour. Natalie was hard-eyed and not afraid to put Kate on the spot, over and over, in matters of exploiting her fecundity, the resulting brood and her own desire to be more than what she is – a woman with a crazy asymmetrical hairdo and an angry, insecure, fat, loser hubby. Morales even pulled out one of the worst tabloid cover stories on Kate and demanded to know how Kate felt about being called a "monster." And right to the end of this interview, Morales kept asking, essentially – why not just quit showbiz and move ahead as a normal divorcee?
Guess what? Mrs. Gosselin went head-to-head. I was impressed with her composure, her obvious restraint in lacing into Jon, her well-thought-out replies. Although Kate has yet to explain, as far as I know, why exactly she signed on for a reality show after she learned she was carrying sextuplets (unless this is just ordinary 21st-century pathology?), she impressively explained that the genie was out of the bottle; no matter what she did, she’d now be followed everywhere, every decision overanalyzed by the tabs.
That she feels she was made for the limelight is obvious. And as for quitting public life: "What can I do, go back to being a nurse? That wouldn’t support the children." She is addicted to the attention now, but she is being commonsensical stating that she’s in it, up to her neck, no turning back, and her basking in the glow will provide for the future of her children.
It was fascinating. Not so much Kate, and certainly not the shadow of her unfortunate soon-to-be-ex, but the quality of this interview. I haven’t seen such a sizzling grill in quite a while. If Natalie Morales can bring this aggressive stance to the idiocy that is Jon and Kate, I’d like to see her bounce it off … any politician. I rarely observe these guys and gals on either side of the fence have their feet put to the fire. The intelligent follow-up question, the determination to get a straight answer seems long gone.
Ms. Morales works for NBC. She replaces Meredith Vieira during the third hour of the "Today Show" and fills in for Ann Curry sometimes as an anchor. I have never noticed her before. Now she is on Mr.wOw’s radar!

I am shocked at those with opinions about Jon and Kate and then mention they never watched the show…Im sorry but I am on Kate’s side. Jon was a total jack a$$ - you have 8 kids - she didnt get pregnant on her own - he had to be OK With it. Did they want 6 at one time - NO - read their website. She didnt get pregnant with 6 and then seek out a show on TLC. After the 6 were born they wrote a book and then was approached by TLC to do the show - who would turn it down if its going to give your children a better life…Kate did not get pregnant with 6 at one time on purpose like Octomom…please people - most of you do your homework but passed on this subject.
I saw the interview and I am, like I said on Kate’s side. They would go out in public and Jon would walk away from his 8 kids - yes I would have yelled IDIOT to him also…Who cares there are cameras there - its not their job to watch his kids - there were plenty of times where the camera men or PA’s had to step in and stop the kids from doing something that would have hurt them b/c Jon walked away when he was supposed to have been watching them…I would yell at my hubby too if he did that, Mothers we all know we harp on the Daddy’s when they aren’t up to our PAR and if you say you dont your lying. Were there times that Kate lashed into Jon, yes, but who wouldnt when your home all day with 8 kids - Until you walk a mile in her shoes you dont know what it was like in their house.
Those kids didnt mind the cameras - if the kids had a meltdown they always left them alone, the cameras, they never followed the kids around either like dogs. I think Jon is a pig and he is getting what he deserves and I think its awful that b/c he stole $180K out of their joint acct and got busted for it he pulled the plug on the show. That shows his maturity - he will never go back to an IT job and Kate can never go back to being a nurse b/c of who they are…the media will always be there following them - what hospital will hire her and what IT Firm will hire him?
If you watched the show - he quit his IT job b/c of the media attn - they followed him to work. So he quit and stayed home w/ the kids while Kate went out and made the money - he got lonely and jealous and it went all down hill from there.
I am soooo sick of John and Kate! They are making fools of themselves, and if I hear one more time "its for the children" bull!!!!!!
When I was in school (Catholic) it wasn’t usual for people to have 8, 10, 12 children. It was called being Irish! I never remember any camera’s at the Mulleries house, they had 12 children. Nor do I recall any camera’s at the Delanies 8 children. Now these families didn’t live in a house like John and Kate and didn’t go on vacations like TLC pays for, but they were happy families.
John and Kate want the lifestyle they have come accustom to, and I’ll bet the kids just want a normal life. That they have never had! She keeps saying "my kids love the cameras." When have they known any different? You have 8 kids, get a job both of you, and live like the rest of us with children pay check to pay check and off CAMERAS!
Do you ever wonder who’s watching these kids while mom and dad are busy with the press?
I don’t care about John or Kate, its a shame for their children who proably would like to go to a park and just be kids.
Mom and Dad have made that impossible! Thanks John and Kate.
Idiots!
Bobbie "Do you ever wonder who’s watching these kids while mom and dad are busy with the press?" Yes we do know who keeps their kids - they have babysitters…whats wrong with that? My child goes to daycare is that wrong?
Bobbie - yes they dont know any different b/c that has been their life and too bad those you mentioned didnt have the same opportunities as you might be surprised to know they probably would have taken it.
Yes do I think they need to both grow up - a little for Kate but a lot for Jon. He is a selfish bafoon a$$. The kids can go to the park and be kids - why can’t they?
Babysitters and day care are not the same thing. These parents are not doing press in Pa. they are all over in NY and Ca. etc.
The families I mentioned were considered normal when I was growing up. I still hear from them, now adults, professionals and doing quite well without the benefit of a celebrity childhood. So, I disagree who will turn out better, because I don’t look at being on TV as an opportunity, its not all about the money. Children need to be children, adults need to be adults. You don’t profit off the kids! Its tacky and those kids are going to grow up and resent their childhood. They can’t even say yes or no to cameras! They both have professional careers, down size and raise your children! Sell a couple of the cars, I still can’t figure out how that’s for the children.
The park????? They can’t even go outside their own home with the press camped outside.
Yea, this was a great idea, its really adding to the quality of the children’s lives. Just because your in a great big house doesn’t make it "all better"
Give me a break!
Babysitters for me are better then daycares - those kids are now in school - their Mother is out selling her book for money - their Father is out sleeping w/ whoever and being an a$$.
Those kids play & they have had many chances of being kids - if you dont watch the show then how do you know? No it doesnt matter what size house you live in - no it doesnt matter what kind of cars you drive - being on this tv show gave those kids and parents many opportunities that they normally would not of had. How many times did your friends go on vacations to HI or skiing? How many times did the young girls get to go to NY and see American Girl and have a party?
Im not saying what Kate did was right or wrong but I am not here to judge her. I think Kate is a great Mother and I learned a lot from her watching the show. I dont know how she does it with 8 kids - 1 is good with me but to have 8…and she ran her house like a tight ship - I think its great.
Opportunities at what cost? I’m sure when these kids are older they will have rather skipped NY or the HI vacations and had a normal life. Every time they profit from those children, there is a price to be paid. Who’s paying the price? Kate who is rounding the talk shows or John who is getting paid to apologize to Kate with his "new rabbi".
The kids are paying the price! Last time I checked school still gets out by 3:00 if Kate’s busy on "The View" or "Larry King" or whatever that’s some serious babysitting money.
Those kids do not have any kind of normal life with the way their parents are acting. The shows over and Kate and John need to fade into the sunset and raise these children.
How much do you want to bet that doesn’t happen any time soon?
Maybe there are too many opportunities for the children for them to stop, either that or we’re dealing with two egomaniacs.
I’m leaning towards the egomaniacs vs. the opportunities for the children.
Bobbie - what is normal? Seeing their parents struggle to put food on the table for them - being raised by someone else most of the time anyway b/c Mommy & Daddy both had to work 10 + hours a day? Would that have made you better to know that family would live paycheck to paycheck and their parents would have split up years before they really did?
Im sure when those kids are older they will have fond memories of what they were able to do as kids and they will have their college education PAID - they wont have that financial worry to contend with - wow what kid wouldnt want that?
You must have missed her interview b/c she isnt on the go all the time - she is home 90% of the time - she did her book tour when Jon was at home w/ the kids….so again please show me where these 8 kids are with nannies all the time…I havent seen it.
I was a single mom for a lot of years when my children were growing up. I taught at the same school they went to so I was lucky enough to be off when my children were off. I taught Kindergarten and the children could go to before and after school programs. Some of my little ones would be dropped off as early as 6am and not picked up until 6pm. If they were adults we would have to pay them overtime! Some parents had to do this because of their schedules, others well you can figure it out.
I was able to send both to college and now as mother of a 22 and 25 year old, when we sit around and reminisce about the "old days", its the little things they cherish. My son’s favorite is mom watching WWF every Monday night and routing for the cute guy. Also cheating at basketball, I would foul him on purpose.
Times they spent with my father who has passed away now. They time the water-bed flooded the house, my point is spend every minute you can with your children. Those little Kindergartners were exhausted and these parents would take them to Disney and spend a ton of money because they felt guilty. Truth be told they only wanted to spend time with mom and dad it could have been a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at the beach. Sometimes we get so caught up in what the kids need and truth be told, they need their parents.
I’m not an expert of any kind on John and Kate, but I do believe that if you get too busy fighting the battles you will lose the war. Once they are 18 that’s it, would you want your child’s memory to be about mommy playing or reading, or a babysitter? Kate and John need to be careful, stop the TV appearances and raise those children. Your 15 minutes of fame is over, it takes alot more character to stay off TV and raise your children, I’m not sure either one can do it.
So in the end, who really comes first? Celebrity or kids?
Well, that’s you and you alone. I hope it all works out, but the chances of that happening while mom and dad play movie stars is slim and none! Did you hear her on TV saying she now wants to be an actress? Are you kidding me? I did see the show a few times and it seems to me every time I saw it John was the one with the kids. She was on more at the end, when they sit on the couch and all she did was complain about him and he’d make faces.
What do you think Kate will put first if it comes to movies or kids? I’ll bet she gets John to play house while she’d be away, I’ll bet her anger doesn’t go that deep.
You are 100% right they are his kids.
Isn’t that what started this whole thing? Kate was never home, out promoting time management or something like that, and John was the one who stayed home for almost 2 years playing Daddy? Minus Kate? She was out playing big shot while he was at home when the kids were not in school. Where’s the bodyguard she was fooling around with? Don’t tell me you think she’s innocent there do you?
