Keith Olbermann Defends Girlfriend Katy Tur's Hiring

Keith Olbermann defends rumors that said he helped get Tur the Weather Channel job because NBCU owns both MSNBC and the Weather Channel.

MSNBC newsman Keith Olbermann’s relationship with girlfriend Katy Tur has been under fire after Tur landed a job at a family cable network.

Tur, who at 25 is half Olbermann’s age, just got hired as an on-air reporter for The Weather Channel, which coincidentally is owned by NBC Universal, the same company that owns MSNBC. Now Olbermann is denying rumors that said he had something to do with his girlfriend’s new gig.

Olbermann tells TVNewser: "Anybody who suggests so is misinformed, and/or sadly unaware that in this time when the industry is collapsing around us, nobody gets a job based on ‘influence,’ only talent."

So what if he did help get her the job….doesn’t everyone try to help their friends and relatives  get a job?  Don’t people have better things to talk about?  First thing you know, the loonies and nut jobs will be pickiting this poor woman’s place of employment…..seems even the lowest of the low have lowered thier standards even further.
