'Late Night' Surprise: David Letterman Marries Longtime Girlfriend, Regina Lasko

Julia Roberts would be proud.
The Hollywood starlet two years ago not-so-subtly prodded David Letterman about not being married to the mother of his child, Regina Lasko. Well now, Letterman can put the issue to bed. He announced on the "Late Show" Monday night that he and Lasko quietly tied the knot at a courthouse in Teton, MT, last Thursday. Letterman discreetly dropped the shocker after his monologue, and just after he congratulated Bruce Willis for getting married to model Emma Heming.
"Regina and I began dating in February of 1986, and I said, ‘Well, things are going pretty good, let’s just see what happens in about ten years …’" Letterman said. "I had avoided getting married pretty good for, like, 23 years, and I — honestly, whether this happened or not — I secretly felt that men who were married admired me … like I was the last of the real gunslingers, you know what I’m saying?’"
The late-night funnyman joked that the family’s truck getting stuck in the mud on the way to their nuptials was a sign he should think twice.
Letterman and his first wife Michelle Cook divorced in 1977. He and Lasko have one son, Harry, age 5.

I like David Letterman. He seems so nice to his guests, and I like his politics. I’ll be he’s a great dad.
I wish him much happiness in his marriage.
