Lily Tomlin's Ernestine Takes on Sarah Palin and Michael Vick in Animal Rights Message (Video)

Piper, put your mother on the phone!’ says Lily Tomlin in her latest animal-rights video.
By Ernestine

Always ready to lend a helping hand, I dropped by at the Hollywood office of The Humane Society of the United States to shoot a video to be shown at the 23rd Genesis Awards Saturday, March 28. True to form, I did not hold back on letting my true feelings be known about my concerns for animals and the miserable treatment they so often receive at the hands of humans. Don’t get me started. Click here to find out how everyone from Sarah Palin and Mayor Villaraigosa to Michael Vick and Neal Cavuto gets the rough end of my tongue.

Wonderful Ernestine!  You really know how to say it.  It makes you think and makes you laugh!

It reminded me of this wonderful story about a rescued Greyhound:  http://wildreiki.wordpress.com/2009/03/27/rescued-greyhound-jasmine-pays-love-forward/  Sentient beings indeed!

[1] GOD, I love Virgos!

[2] It’s really freaky how Ernestine hasn’t aged in 40 damn years.

[3] The smaller the creatures for whom you exhibit compassion, the bigger the person that makes you.

[4] LMFAO at the "long face" comment!

[5] Did I mention Virgos rock my world?

Well, KK, being a Virgo myself, I agree with everything you have written above.

(PS: she followed up the long face comment with an excellent horse snort, doncha think?)

There you go again!  You have such a fun style of writing, on here.

I am a Gemini - don’t-cha loves me too???

Remember my telling you all about the squirrels I’ve been feeding?  Along with all the birds - quail, and so on…

Well, word seems to have gotten around!  I have to buy over 50lbs of bird seed and sunflower seeds a month, now! My fav grocery clerk says; "Gee, the animals all eat better than you do!"  I think sad, but true… :(

I don’t know if I will be back on here, or not.  So, I just wanted to be sure to say adios, and thank you for the memories!  Take care, you all.

And just where in the hell do you think YOURE going, hummm??!?

Kryssi K,

Just noticed your inquiry - ahem -

Not really going anywhere.  I feel like I have little more to contribute, and most of what I do write gets me in more trouble, or in a kind of funk - I thought getting rid of GWB would solve ALL the problems…

Now, we have to clean up the mess and listen to the rePubs whine and raise a ruckus and continue to wreck havoc on the lives of those who simply want to get on with our lives…

And, I am almost always sticking my foot in my mouth, here … rather, fumbling over my fingers and forgetting to fixit.

I don’t even get on the computer that much anymore.  So, that’s about it…

I will miss you Kryssi, Serena, Emcye, Suzanne, and many many more.  Be gooder, tho’

I have to believe when humankind comes to terms with how arrogant and cruel we have been to all sentient creatures, our hearts will shatter open with shame. Maybe that day will mark the real dawn of evolution.

Very perfectly put; I love your harsh yet poetic style of descriptive writing.

Auntie Lily, hi, it’s me, Junior.  I don’t have any idea what Ernestine is talking about, but I’m sure it is a good thing because my mom says Ernestine has a pure heart.  Thank you for being for the animals.  Um, please tell Edith I can’t come to soccer practice on Saturday because I have to go to the dentist.  That’s everything, I think.  Big hearts, Mugsy Jr.

Hey, Serena, remember that film and the theme song done later by the Carpenters? Yes, and bless Ernestine––one of my favorite Lily characters—one ringy-dingy!

Yes ma’am, I sure do.  It was Karen’s voice running through my head as I wrote this.  :)

Oh Ernestine, you sweet talker. You keep telling ‘em and we will keep appreciating your voice.  Mills are for wind and grain, not puppies and kittens!
