Always ready to lend a helping hand, I dropped by at the Hollywood office of The Humane Society of the United States to shoot a video to be shown at the 23rd Genesis Awards Saturday, March 28. True to form, I did not hold back on letting my true feelings be known about my concerns for animals and the miserable treatment they so often receive at the hands of humans. Don’t get me started. Regardless of who you agree with or don’t agree with OR what side you are on… We always seem to forget that it is never about US it is about the animals they are the ones who should come first. We shouldn’t just be fighting on their behalf just because we feel sorry for them or because it is the "right" thing to do. The issue of animal rights stems way beyond what is right or wrong rather that they are sentient beings thus they should be automatically be treated with integrity and respect. Sure whenever dealing with a rights issue it quite often becomes politically charged but if we took a step back from our political preferences and focused on the heart of the matter we’d be able to move mountains instead of burying important issues deeper into the ground.

I am now waiting for the next Ernestine flash to resolve the unfair approach to pigs in the wake of the "Swine Flu" epidemic. I, for one, feel only anxiety for the maligned farm members with the nose that could only resemble an electric outlet. Pigs are people too and they have smarts as well!!! And besides that, what other animal do you know of that can honestly boast (but doesn’t) that they have a well established motorcycle legacy attached to their name as well. Road Hog. So there!!!

Lily, Ask anyone who knows me, Elephants have always been my favorite animals. I will spend the entire trip to the Zoo with the elephants, I’ve figurines all over my house, I’ve run out of space for any new ones. What you are doing is great and I will continue to donate and write letters for better treatment of all Animals. We took their space on this planet and kicked them out so we could have a bigger ranch, higher buildings, less trees. God is going to fix things for the Animals of this earth and Man is not going to like it. Thank You and God Bless You.
