I am so with you. The first time we meet the Palins, there is the whole family on stage at the RNC. There is Bristol, carrying her baby brother draped in a long blanket to hide her own pregnancy. From that moment on, I realized that Sarah Palin is sleaze.
And that sleaze factor continues with this Letterman fiasco. Yes. He was out of line. Very much so. Probably feeling some muscle because he was burying Conan in the ratings. But he was out of line. Palin is milking this for all she can get. If there is a camera, she is in front of it feigning the doting mom. If she was such a good mother, she would not have sent her pill popping son into the military to take care of him . If she was such a great mom, she would not have had her children on the campaign trail, rather in school. And now, for the sake of her 14 year old, she needs to quit calling attention to that young child with silly cries of " rape". Letterman never used that word. That word came from Todd Palin.
Is it true that the Jolie-Pitts are deliriously happy, love their kids and enjoy their charitiable projects?
That Madonna is not adopting Oprhans, but poor children, whose parents and relatives are so poor, they are forced by circumstances to give over their children/grandchildren to SOME westerners with too much money, no moral fiber and a penchant for 19 year old boys of the browner hue?
That Sarah Palin is making a big brouhaha about Dave’s after 12am joke so that she can get media attention to fight off the huge media hit Liz Cheney has gotten? That Leno made a similar joke about the same 18 year old daughter and John Edwards months ago and not a shout out from Grandma Palin? Could Greta Van Susten’s husband be the mastermind behind this effort by Toddy the first spouse and Sarah to come to the big City to make another go at it with the red patent shoes…Is sarah clicking those heels?
And by the way has Sarah sanctioned her fans to call Dave’s son reprehensible names as a remedy to Sarah’s complaints? Go to the CBS community forum website to see the cretins that don’t have a problem w pulling a four child into this debate. Given the Leno joke of months ago and the ill advised attack on a four year old boy…I think Sarah has once again showed a total lack of good sense.
Thanks, Maggie, for the shout out. And Victoria, a big "whoo-hoo" to you! I’ve also wondered about the whole celebrity adoption trend, since you mention the Jolie-Pitt clan. Yes, I’m delighted whenever any child can be given the chance at a loving family life rather than living in an orphanage, but the recent interview with the wonderful Ms. Vardalos pointed out that there is another population of kids here in America who deserve their chance, too. I also wonder about the long-term emotional impact on kids adopted by celebrities whose overall behavioral track record is, shall we say, just a wee tad shaky. Sure, the kids have all the material stuff imaginable, but in some cases, I just don’t see a lot of hands-on parenting going on. And yes, Madonna, I mean YOU. Being paparazzi’d exiting a Kabbalah service with the glum looking kids in tow, or dressing them up in a Yankee tee-shirt for another photo op? Nope. Doesn’t count. And the canoodling? Oh, behave!
Here’s another gossip tid-bit I came across: a few columnists have commented recently on how wan and haggard Katie Holmes has been looking lately, and have attributed it to a "Scientology-approved diet" she has been on to enhance her chances of getting pregnant. I’ve seen some photos of her with the ubiquitous Suri, and she does look quite drawn and frail. Hmmmm. I wonder …
Gossip? I heard a few people in Tehran decided to take a stroll down the main drag (or was that hundreds of thousands of people?).
And the victims of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme wrote a bunch of letters to the judge, asking for clemency… or did I get that wrong too (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/15/madoff-victims-statements_n_215… )?
