LIZ SMITH FLASH! Tooting Our Women's Horns?

Joan Ganz Cooney and Cynthia McFadden

© Harry Benson

Oh, kids, is that the sound of us blowing our horn here at wowOwow.com? Yes, it is. This very day at noon in the Pierre Hotel ballroom, three of wOw’s Women will be involved in the Police Athletic League charity. Our distinguished Joan Ganz Cooney and our intrepid correspondent Cynthia McFadden will be honored and the old war horse here, Liz, is emceeing this grand event, which helps New York’s children.

Incidentally, Cynthia will be accepting her award by video from Moscow where she has gone to cover Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit there. If you missed Cynthia and Hillary yesterday on "Good Morning America" and if you missed them last night on "Nightline," you should Google "Good Morning America" and "Nightline" and catch these interviews.

Cynthia has the secretary telling her more than we ever knew before about whether she wants to run again for president and how she was tapped by President Barack Obama to become his secretary of state.

I did see Cynthia and HRC in Moscow.  Great interview…Cynthia is so natural and engaging it brought out the best in Secretary Clinton.  Kudos.

And kudos to Joan for today’s honors…and for Liz for running the show!
