LIZ SMITH FLASH! Old Joe Jackson Thinking Showbiz for Paris?

Liz Smith
Memo to the Michael Jackson family. When you allow old Joe to go about talking of how he is looking at Paris for a show business career and how he is going to raise Michael’s children – isn’t this just a setup for Debbie Rowe to seize custody from Katherine Jackson?! Joe Jackson gave an interview to ABC News that is chilling in its implications – aside from his assertions that Michael was the victim of "foul play."

The one thing Michael always made clear was how his father ruined his life. I think he must be rolling in his grave wherever that may be to think that Joe Jackson will have any say-so over these three grandchildren. Let alone protecting these poor innocents from a future in show business!

Because he has been ridiculed all of his life…  enough is enough..  People have something to say about him, his family, his children, his money.  enough is enough

Nicole,

I see that you’re sensitive to people being ridiculed and that’s a good thing.

But I think you’re wrong about Jackson being ridiculed. People are not trying to humiliate him or his family or even laughing at him. If anything people are saying it’s tragic that he ended up that way. But clearly, people are also saying that it was his own fault that things turned out this way.

That is so much different than ridiculing someone.

The real question is [again] why do you feel a need to defend him? [I’m not looking for an answer, although you should think about that.]  It is was it is.

Nicole, I just wanted to respond one more time and then I choose not to continue to come back to this thread.  What I would like to say to your question is: It may seem unkind to ridicule one who has died and has lived a very lavish life with many negative behaviors, I really do understand where you are coming from.  But my question to you is:  Is it right to glorify one with all his negative behaviors, just because he died??  At some point in all of our lives we will experience responsibility for our choices and sometimes it does occur in death.  I am not one that would go after him or anyone with a vengence.  But I surely understand the dilema and the controversy regarding MJ.

Deborah and Andrea…you two are spot on in your posts!!!  When we are teaching in all the schools to "Just Say No to Drugs", then we have people who want to idolize this drug addict…then something is terribly wrong with this picture!!!  Please bury the little guy with his needle marks all over his body  and move on….PLEEEEZZZZE!!!!

Good Morning LL!  I am just getting on and I wanted to say hi and thanks for the reply.  As always I love what you have to say and share.  Your point was absolutely a perfect one regarding what we are trying to teach our children at every age and then try to explain why these hollywood sorts are really not what they think at all.  It is just so sad the way Americans glorify hollywood and I have had problems with this forever!  Have a good one and I hope to see you on a New Thread!!!!!

Joe Jackson makes my skin crawl. I just don’t trust him with Michael’s children or the money. I hope Katherine has the guts to stay away from him as much as possible.

Agreed 100+%! There is nothing about that man in the last several days that would make anyone believe he knew or cared what parenting was about.

good luck, if she is still a jehovah’s witness and goes by their by laws, she has to stay with him thru thick and thin, no matter what. only if he is unfaithful can she divorce him. ALSO his word is law. no matter what abuse, to her or the children, she has to abide by him. so if she is still being a faithful follower staying away from him will be the last thing she will do. being an ex JW i know their rules and that is why i left.

Liz, enough already, get off the gravy train !  You’ve written enough on this tawdry tale.  And as to everyone else—how can we presume to know this family, or its particular dynamics ?  Just weeks, months ago, everyone was questioning whether Michael himself should be entrusted with the welfare of children.  Now we’re questioning Joe Jackson’s abilities, and wondering whether poor Michael would be spinning in the grave.  Is this family’s pathologies really different than most ?  Mind your business folks.

I’m with you, Paul.  It surprises me to no end that Liz Smith is giving so much typing time to this Jackson thing.  I never pegged her for being one of the yellow tabloid media.  I know she rubs elbows with celebrities and dishes gossip, but her obsesion with the Michael Jackson circus  repels me, too.  I’m getting off her posts until she changes the subject.
