Liz Smith: Let's Not Assume the Next CEO of the LPGA Is a Lesbian
If a female becomes the next CEO of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, let’s not immediately label her a lesbian …
In response to: The Ladies Professional Golf Association is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer. Is it important that the CEO be a woman?
I don’t personally give a damn but I think it would be quite wonderful and funny if it is a woman and a tiny, little, coquettish, wisp of a girl, someone that they won’t immediately begin to be able to label as "a lesbian."

Don’t you think Lindsay Lohan has managed to do away with that stereotype finally?
This was an interesting question and it appears everyone read it correctly and is responding with their honest opinion. Is it necessary that the new CEO be a female?
If there is anything that we have learned over the years, just because someone is of the same gender or race as the group they are representing, does not mean they will be more sensitive to the needs and desires of those they oversee. A woman could be appointed and from the onset seem to be a perfect fit, only to discovered two months into the job that she is not at all sensitive to the players.
I agree with others who have voiced the opinion gender is not a necessity, competence to serve is. Just because she has breasts should not mean she is deserving of the position anymore than a man having a penis should preclude him from it.
