L'Oréal Seeks to Award Women Making a Difference

At wowOwow.com, we believe women can change the world, which inspired us to launch Think Up!, a community for women to come together and inspire innovation and growth.
L’Oréal Paris’s program, called Women of Worth, also subscribes to the idea that women can make a big difference — and they have launched a website, womenofworth.com, where you can nominate a woman who you feel is truly a worthy woman.
In addition to nominating women enriching their communities, L’Oréal offers helpful tips on how to get involved in local and national volunteer organizations.
This year, ten Women of Worth honorees will receive $5,000 for their charitable causes and a matching donation will be made on their behalf to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Nominations are open through July 13.
Tell us: How are you making a difference?

I love the idea of women who change the world, I am nominating Chantai Snellgrove, creator of "Patenting Special Needs Magazine" after 11 years of experience with her "special child" she saw a need that had to be addressed, the magazine was created to raise awareness and to share information for everyone touched by a "special individual" in their life. Doctors, Therapists, Psychologists,Teachers, Parents, and Caregivers all contribute articles to the magazine. These are people who want to help make a difference. Most importantly the magazine is a free on line publication and receives 100,000 hits a month from all over the world, you can see that "ONE WOMAN CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
So sorry should read creator of "Parenting Special Needs Magazine"
Hats off to all the women who are making a difference! I am making a difference on a local level; but expect to expand internationally soon. I am a facilitator for workshops for girls, ages 8-14. My workshops help prepare them for puberty by teaching them anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system and how menstruation starts.
My background…..Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over 35 years in the nursing field. I guess you can say that I am volunteering; since most of the expenses are out of pocket at this point. This is funded by my unemployment checks right now.
