"the game will be played 75 miles from the MSU campus."…. which should even out a #3 seed playing a #1 seed. Should be a very exciting game, I’d say !  No money …. just "i told you so " rights ;-)

Congratulations James, Great game, you deserved to win…. although, home court advantage DOES help …. but you played a better game !

Good luck in the finals. My husband is still calling Villanova .. we’ll see.

Hey James,

Rock Chalk,  We needed a little bit more offense, we did better then the last time we played in early Jan.  We’ll be back next year.  Hopefully Collins and Aldrich.  They say Cole Aldrich’s Dad lost his job in Minnesota late last year and that might cause him to go ahead but really he needs another year, Collins they say is ready now but he says hes having a good time and not in a hurry.  I can’t complain we have a great program and Self is a good coach it took us a while after losing Roy Williams and we were bitter around here after Roy left for Carolina and won there.  After we thumped the Tar Heels good last year and got the monkey off our back we feel good and all was forgiven with Roy.  You know Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp were both Kansas boys and many around here always rooted for Tar Heels if KU was out.

Detroit was good to us last year when we won our title coincidentally it was also the same path that Danny Manning and the miracles took 20 years earlier when we won.

My youngest is 12 and was rooting for The Spartans over the Trojans you know a rematch of the Battle of Troy.

Good Luck with UConn they look pretty tough.

I played basketball in HS. Had a terrible coach who taught us nothing. Didn’t even make time for practice between games. Guess he felt girls’ basketball wasn’t important enough. Killed my love for it. Now only interested in seeing my grandsons play.

I am the luckiest woman alive. I married a man who has no interest in watching sports on TV, except for using baseball as a sleeping pill after a 12 hour work day. I however, will watch EVERY Red Sox game starting on opening day next week.

Living in Connecticut, though, you cannot escape college basketball, men AND women, so we will join every person we know and watch the fun this weekend.

Nothing beats live sports, and through work connections we have tickets to floor seats at the Boston Garden to see the Celtics on Wednesday, which I am REALLY EXCITED for, since I have a huge crush on Paul Pierce !

EKA, I join you in luck - My husband only watches sports if the rest of us are! It’s been fun while my son has been at Fordham to give him tickets to see the Sox, Bruins and Celtics against the NY teams. He  is thrilled with each pair of tickets he gets - it is so much easier to get the tickets for NY games. Forget going to Fenway!

My husband hated sports, too, which was sad for me since I grew up addicted to racing - my grandpa owned a car that he took to the local drag strip, and for a while my dad and a friend had a car at the local dirt track, and we all got together and watched the NASCAR races every week.  I also fell in love with basketball in junior high, since the coach at my school was so good and we won all the time! City league champs quite a few years - then that same coach (Steve Eck) went to the high school I went to, and we were State champs most of the years he was there. Now he’s at a community college - he was recognized a couple of years ago for winning his 600th game - he’s just an amazing coach, and I still love basketball thanks to him!  I just didn’t watch it much when my husband was alive. As for racing, I usually watched the Daytona 500 and that was it.  Actually, old habits die hard - I still haven’t gotten back in to the habit of watching them when I’m alone - only when I’m around my family, or if I talk to them beforehand and remember that it’s going to be on…

EKA,

I was so glad to see Boston win last year, I don’t follow pro much but Paul Pierce is a KU Jayhawk so I have always followed how he is doing.  I  root for the pro teams that have our beloved Jayhawks like Mario Chalmers who tied us last year with Memphis and sent us into overtime to win, he is now with the Miami Heat.  We also won a national championship 20 years ago so it was an anniversary for KU and then to have Paul Pierce win it was all good last year for Kansas basketball. Enjoy the game and I am sue it is hard to get away from crazy March fans in UConn country.

Paul Pierce is a very classy guy, a gentleman and a clutch player, and has the best smile on the team ! But he needed Ray Allen ( former Uconn Huskie) and Kevin Garnett  to make a championship team. It sure was fun to watch ! To see these "big guys’ in person is awesome, can’t wait.

Oh Yes, it is a bit crazy here, and if both teams get to next week it will be uncontrollable.
