Laura,

Are you from Wichita?  I saw your post on the last page and wondered if so didn’t Steve Eck coach at South?

Yes! I grew up in Wichita.  I went to Jardine and then South, and he coached at both.  And oddly, I also went to Cowley County Community College many years ago, and he ended up coaching there, too, for a few years. :-)

I live in Wichita and grew up around the Wichita metro area.  I always heard he was a good coach.  Considering how many the Jayhawks lost to the NBA and graduating we did well making it to the sweet 16.  I thought Missouri did well and so did the rest of the bigt 12 teams.

I thought a sunflower was a good icon.

Doesnt anyone watch Womens Basketball?? Its the best game in town. I take my nieces and nephews to womens sports events.  They are so much more fun.  Better sportsmanship and we need support!!!!

You should come to CT !

Women’s basketball is THE game here, even the nursing homes have to wheel in big flat screens when "our girls" play ! It’s more popular than football here …. seriously !!

I was disappointed the Michigan State women lost, but they did knock off then- top-seeded Duke.

Spartans won this when I was in my senior year at Michigan State - Magic Johnson was on the team at that time.  It was cool to see him watching the Spartans win the last game (I just caught a glimpse on the news).

Ah..the Madness….Poor Louisville..Misery at the water cooler….I was in the grocery Sunday and asked someone in a U of L jacket what time the game was on…She wheeled around and snapped….THEY JUST LOST BY 15…….stomp,stomp,stomp.Whoops..My bad…I don’t follow it except maybe the last few games…and I really like it with the sound off so that it definitely becomes The Big Dance….but it means I have to actually watch….Well, to everyone else who is invested in it…I hope your team wins……!

Well… I’m a UCONN grad, as is my son, my hubby…  so I follow the men and women’s team’s fortunes during the tournament, but don’t watch whole games.

I live in NC and since we nearly always have a team in the Final Four (top 4 teams with most final four appearances—2 are in NC) and do again this year, I normally follow it.  But this year for some reason I just haven’t cared.  I guess I just didn’t have a Cinderella team to follow.  UConn UNC matchup in the championship game.  UNC takes it all.

I knew State would be U-Conn. The Huskies were way overhyped, and Izzo had the Spartans on a roll. They’ll be tough for NC to beat, but North Carolina should get by Michigan State, unfortunately.

I am a UK fan.  Tubby was a great guy, but Billy Gillispie wasn’t what we needed.  LOTS of serious issues there. Here is hoping that John Calipari can get the job done, with class and a community spirit.

 I love college basketball!

I follow specific teams rather than the sports themselves. In this case, I will be watching as long as the MSU Spartans are playing. My mother, on the other hand, will probably be watching every game she can. (She is a huge Spartan fan, but she also follows individual players.) As an aside, does anyone know of a state university acronym that is more often used than “MSU”? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSU

The Spartans whupped up on ol’ U-Conn. I hope they can upset NC, too, but that’ll be a way taller task.

America loves home-town teams and underdogs. Go Green! Go White! Just remember Steve Fischer and the ‘89 Wolverines, and that anything is possible.
