From Valerie Jarrett to Elizabeth Edwards, Annie Leibovitz and Ashton Kutcher, the 2009 Women’s Conference was attended by more than 70 luminaries from all walks of life. Approximately 25,000 people attended the two-day conference, which was filled with panel discussions and workshops aimed to empower women to become leaders of change. Here is a special look at photos of some of the women and men who contributed in spreading the message that women are architects of change — something we already knew, right?

The Women’s Conference that used to be a California event is now the impossible thing to get tickets to.  Used to have a lot of Californians, not as many as before.  Motivated to do what?   That which we are all already doing?

P.S

Because it is State sponsored, most of it is recorded and published on line at a later date.  There are interesting speakers and Ms Shriver can really pull the celebs.  It will be interesting to watch this year since it is so hard to get tickets.  They are gone within the first 5 minutes of availability.

Vallerie Jarret is a crook, Ashton Kutcher is completely whipped, and I feel bad for Elizabeth Edwards. Many people cheat, although it would’ve helped if she didn’t have cancer. I hope she outlives him. Katie Couric could’ve asked Sarah Palin whatever she wanted, she decided to constantly ask her which newspapers she reads. Lame.

Who on here said Maria Shriver is not a knockout? I beg to differ.

I’m not familiar with the conference—it seems like a Democratic or liberal  women’s conference.  Other than Arnold (and his conservatism is debatable), I didn’t see conservative or Republican women/speakers.  Or, many luminaries "from all walks of life".  Is this editor’s choice?

I also noticed the lack of diversity.  Are there no conservative women around just to make interesting discussion?  Too much sameness becomes boring.

I’m not impressed. Where’s the diversity? I do not see women of all education, social, economic backgrounds and ethnicity’s represented. I see a token here and there in a failed attempt to appear legit. It appears to be the same old elitists weekend get together. Many of the women who would truly benefit cannot afford the price of admission.
