By rising star you don’t mean any of our all-time faves like Diane, Katie, Christiane, Cynthia and Lesley. If you mean new – I like Rachel Maddow because I always learn a little something when I watch her, as opposed to most of the screaming boys. And she’s so sassy. And I like Campbell Brown. She knows her stuff and she does it all with a great amount of charm and ease. They’re both here to stay.

Hi, Marlo. I’m going to say that Campbell Brown may be on the downswing. I think Erica Hill’s gaining momentum at CNN. Erica wasn’t nearly as good of a journalist at Campbell, initially, but she’s really peaking, whereas Brown’s ratings have been in decline (last I looked, anyway).

That’s not to say Campbell’s not very good. She is. Very intelligent, really a sweet lady who asks insightful questions. But her show’s struggled vis-a-vis the sensationalism machine at FOX.

i couldn’t agree more….. O’Reilly won’t let anyone finish their thoughts, Hannity is a little better, but when someone is asked a question, I want to hear the answer…

Rachael Maddow is my favorite.  She is smart (is she smart!), witty, and goes in depth with a subject.  She doesn’t glance over it she gives you history and consequences of what’s happening in regard to the subject.  I grant you she is liberal - but maybe that’s also one of the reasons I like her.
