Mel Gibson's Wife Files for Divorce

The passion has gone out of Mel Gibson’s marriage, for the actor’s wife, Robyn Gibson, has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

There are few details on the couple’s woes, and that’s exactly how they’d like to keep it. In fact, Mel and Robyn requested as much privacy as possible during this trying time: "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."

Neither party said how long they’ve been separated, but Entertainment Weekly reports they have been living apart for about three years, perhaps around the same time Gibson went on an anti-Semitic tirade following a traffic citation.

Wonder what his demons are causing him to behave as he has been.  If he and Robyn have been separated for three years, that may be what is setting him off as he proposes to be such a devout Catholic.  What is hard is that they are private about it so people will speculate.

I feel for Mel & Robyn during this trying time. Divorce is almost always hard. For celebrities it is even harder because of the media. I have a lot of respect for Mel. He is a terrific actor, and he used his own money to produce the "Passion" movie. He made a mistake when he had a little too much to drink and mouthed off. We have all done stupid things when we had a few drinks ( I know I have )

Eldebbo, Mel has been seen with other women.  Whether that means anything is anyone’s guess but his wife obviously has had enough of whatever has happened and I don’t think it was just his drinking.  Although, as any woman can tell you, putting up with someone who drinks to excess can cause worry if that person is driving, embarrassement if that person insults people, and disappointment that someone you love won’t go for help.  That applies to women too, by the way.

What happened to him? He used to be okay, but then just went looney toons with his religion like Tom Cruise. It’s amazing she made it as long as she did, and whatever money he has, I’m sure after nearly 30 years and 7 kids, she’d getting a big chunkey chunk of it.
