No Weeping From Mr. wOw on Michael Jackson

Elvis Presley was an irresponsible drug addict. Marilyn Monroe was an irresponsible drug addict. Judy Garland … Billie Holiday … Janis Joplin … Jimi Hendrix … Jim Morrison … John Belushi. All died of their excesses and their excesses are always cited within the first paragraph of any article written about these brilliant train wrecks.
Mr. wOw mentions this because I see our favorite rabble rousers – the "Rev." Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson – are gearing up to condemn all mentions of Michael Jackson’s fabled bad habits as somehow being criticism exclusive only to Michael. Perhaps even racist in nature. Bull crap.
Jackson was a great big talent and a great big substance abuser and general all-around nutcase. Just like Elvis, Judy, Marilyn, etc.
Jackson’s genius and accomplishments will be remembered forever; and that genius will take precedence over anything else – just as his famous compatriots in unnecessary early death are remembered: talent first, foibles next.
But so too will live those pedophilia charges, his drug-taking, his surgeries, his deliberately bizarre antics. Not to mention Michael’s laughably giant ego (ineptly cloaked by phony humility) and his whispery poor pitiful-me pose. Mr. wOw always had just three words for Michael Jackson: Get. Over. It. Oh, and two more: Get. Therapy. I wonder if his "dear friend" Elizabeth Taylor ever suggested that.
This unique American tragedy made his own extravagant prison and wallowed in infantile excuses. He had absolutely no common sense. None. Michael deserves every single tribute paid to him as an artist. And deserves every slam as an artist who destroyed himself because he "wanted the childhood he never had." Who the hell has the childhood they "want"? Mr. wOw sure didn’t. Did you?
(How about a bit of sympathy for the boys in those child molestation cases?! Oh, they got money for their trauma? Michael was similarly compensated for his unhappy childhood, and you see what money did for him.)
As for Michael’s "shocked, shocked" family – every one of whom became rich and/or famous off his back – whenever one of them speaks, I want to roll my eyes. His father, Joe Jackson … I guess I’ll bow to some sensitivity and not attack a grieving father. Though I sure want to put quotes around grieving. As for the kids, I think they’d be best off with Janet, though I don’t figure her as a perfect model of stability, but likely the best of them.
I know this is very harsh – but don’t let Mr. wOw’s cynicism stop you. Go ahead and weep over Michael. So few did while he lived.
Now … can the front pages get back to health care, North Korea, Iraq and Iran?

Deena,
Mea culpa! I SWEAR I heard it on the news [about Caan]. But I just googled and web crawled and checked news media outlets and nothing. I am so sorry. But I did hear it. Maybe the news media mixed it up and then realized it was Malden who died?
Whatever, my apologies.
I admire and have a tremendous amount of respect for Reverend Al Sharpton. I admire his courage to speak out against racial injustice and police brutality! … If it were not for Reverend Al Sharpton shining a light on the NYPD much of the criminal acts of rogue cops would remain hidden in the dark.
You are not the one getting your head bashed in, verbally abused, murdered or a nightstick rammed up your anus. The constant ramming of nightsticks into the anuses of male citizens screams out for psychological analysis.
There are decent hardworking residents of communities who are more afraid of cops than of criminals. Criminals commit crimes thats what they do. You do not expect cops to hide behind the law to commit their crimes. It’s the actions of cowards.
It does not take much imagination nor courage to stand on ones soap box and bi—h about the dead! Persons who cannot defend themselves!
I think if these artists were alive they would file this article where it belongs in the TRASH! Yellow journalism at its worse.
Judy was forced to take prescription drugs as a child star by greedy studio heads. She was not a train wreck. She fought her addiction to no avail.
Marilyn Monroe was not an irresponsible drug addict! She was the victim of an industry that exploits women. An industry that is sexist and ageist. She was the victim of greedy studio heads.
Billie Holidays marrow was sucked out of her bones like a baby suckling mothers milk. She was exploited by the recording industry and by those in her personal life. She attempted to drown her sorrows and she to seek help. She found herself returning to that which was killing her. It was a white musician who introduced her to drugs.
History will remember Mr. Jackson and all of the artists mentioned. When asked about Mr. Wow the response will always be Mr. Who?
MEDIOCRITY——-ALWAYS————-ATTACKS ———EXCELLENCE!

The answer is no!
I’m only one voice in a sea of many on this site who share identical views. It seems whenever there’s even one opposing view that view is attacked.
I live in New York City. I have witnessed injustice and police brutality! … I speak from experience not from the perspective of someone who lives in an ivory tower. Persons far removed psychologically, emotionally and physically from the suffering of others. Persons who could careless about the sufferings of others until it affects them personally.
I believe there’s a population of Americans who would like for those suffering to keep their mouths shut. Surely, you’re not telling me that if I’m a victim of a police nightstick up my anus I should keep silent, and convince myself it’s only my imagination?
If blacks did not protest against lynching, attacks by waterhoses and dogs, injustice, the Kand inequality there would be no changes. Where we see injustice we must speak out and Reverend Sharpton is doing that.
Within a short time Michael Jackson will be fodder like we have never seen before and that is for all comedians that perform in entertainment field.
Remember: Tragedies + Time = Comedy
"(How about a bit of sympathy for the boys in those child molestation cases?! Oh, they got money for their trauma? Michael was similarly compensated for his unhappy childhood, and you see what money did for him.)"
Mr. Wow, How do you know he was guilty? Do not comment on something to which you do not have any proof. Ok!
