NOW Responds to Limbaugh's Domestic Abuse/Terrorism Comparison
The National Organization for Women has responded after Rush Limbaugh made a brash comparison of terrorism torture and domestic violence. On his radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh said the Obama administration watering down their definition of torture is akin to the women’s rights group NOW’s assertion that "a man shouting at them equaled domestic violence."
NOW’s vice president of action, Melody Drnach, tells wowOwow that the day Limbaugh understands that domestic abuse comes in all forms — physical abuse, mental abuse and verbal abuse — is when NOW and other advocacy groups have made an impact. Drnach, who works with national grassroots organizations, tells us:
It shows that NOW and other advocacy groups are on the right track spreading the message of domestic violence when even Rush Limbaugh agreed that domestic violence comes in all forms — physical abuse, mental abuse and verbal abuse … When Rush Limbaugh understands that shouting is a form of domestic violence, then we are on the right track. Then we did something right.
The outspoken Republican said on Tuesday’s "The Rush Limbaugh Radio Show":
What do you readers think: Was Limbaugh right or oh-so-wrong?LIMBAUGH: We have allowed — we have allowed these guys, Obama and his buddies over at the CIA and in Congress, to water down the definition of torture to mean anything that makes a person uncomfortable. You know what this reminds me of? Remember when the NOW gang and all these other social-interest groups started asking women if they’d ever been a victim of domestic violence? They didn’t like the numbers they got initially. The numbers weren’t high enough for the NOW gang. So they expanded the definition to include a man shouting at them. A man shouting at them equaled domestic violence. It didn’t matter if the women shouted first. But let’s not get sidetracked …

Rush Limbaugh is a self declared know it all who spews inaccurate and harmful rubbish every day. Sadly, many of his empty headed followers will cheer him for suggesting that women (and NOW) exaggerate what domestic violence is, and how it devastates victims and their families. It’s Rush trying to appeal to those more burly men that he so wants to be a part of, who likely victimized him throughout his childhood.
Snarkeling: snarkey snorkeling.
Snarkey:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=snarkeyI think that is a VUNDERFULLLLL Idea! Hey, maybe we could ALL use the word and start a national TREND!!!!!!
So then we could say”’Ohhhh…Rush is only snarkling", or There he goes again——Snarkeling away !,
“Snarkeling” does have quite a ring to it. ;-)
Another word might be “unterbar”:
- under the bar (threshold)
- substandard
- underwhelming
As contrasted with “wunderbar”, aka “wonderful”.“Snarkelepsy” - when your conscience keeps falling asleep.
Take a breath, Zera, you’re having too much fun. Thanks, Patty E!
