Miss California, Sarah Palin | 05/14/2009 8:25 am

As Palin Defends Miss California Carrie Prejean, Chris Matthews Blasts Book (Video)

Miss California USA co-director Shanna Moakler quits — too much bad blood after Trump fails to fire Carrie Prejean.
By The Staff at wowOwow.com

The Miss California controversy hasn’t calmed down just because Donald Trump let her keep her crown.

Saying she "no longer believes" in the Miss Universe Organization, Shanna Moakler quit her job as Miss California USA co-executive director. Moakler, a former Miss USA, explained that the events surrounding Carrie Prejean, her position on gay marriage and the racy photos were just too much for her. She told Usmagazine.com:

I cannot with a clear conscious [sic] move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth. I want to be a role model for young women with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children.

Meanwhile, Prejean has gained another prominent supporter — former beauty queen Sarah Palin.

The Alaska governor came to Prejean’s defense yesterday, saying the "liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable." People should lay off Prejean and remember that darlings of the left, including President Obama and Hillary Clinton, also think marriage should be between a man and a woman, she said. "Our Constitution protects us all — not just those who agree with the far left," she continued.

Meanwhile, Palin is taking some more heat of her own today. News broke this week that she’s penning a memoir, but MSNBC’s "Hardball" host Chris Matthews couldn’t let that pass without lobbing some criticism in her direction:

What is Sarah Palin up to? She’s got this book deal; she’s obviously not going to write it, they’ve already announced somebody she’s going to collaborate on it. What an embarrassment. It’s one of these ‘I told you’ books that jocks do … Why do they do it like this? She can’t write; we got a collaborator for her.

Good for Palin. And, concerning Matthews, I’m just glad the Obama thrills in his leg have died down enough so that he can focus on something else…

I’m not sure that I will be reading Sarah Palin’s book either.  But she certainly has a right to write one if she so desires.  I could write a book if I wanted to.  No one is obligated to read it.  Does this Matthews person know for a fact that it will be written with a collaborator?  Whether you like Sarah Palin or not, it’s not like she is illiterate.  And if she does have a collaborator, it would not be the first time that has been done either.  Get a grip, man.

" Get a grip, man."

Thank you; I couldn’t have said it better myself. ;)

I agree..many political writers have either ghost writers or work with someone (as if she doesn’t have enough on her plate to delegate and get some help). You go girl!

The "radical" left still loves to hate her and gets every jab in possible-and yes-we conservs can do the same. And then there’s those who hate to not love her gutsy but sweet self. What a great country-lets just hope we don’t lose all (Dems & Repubs) of our freedoms of speech on both sides while "Big Brother and Uncle Sam’s plantation" are rapidly getting their noses into all of our private business. Give me liberty or give me death.

Re: Miss CA-Everybody is talking mercy with past mistakes on the left-for the left-but no mercy for the teen who took shots with her girlfriend. If she believes in heterosexual marriage that’s her RIGHT to express her views as an American. If someone disagrees-well-Ok-that your RIGHT. Get the whiners, the KBG (and the Nazi youth corps) outa my back yard and my bank accounts. My Russian friends doing my remodel told me that American libs are the most naive’ he’s ever seen traveling the world-or I quote him-"Wait until they have their own Mother devoured for speaking freely, then sent to Siberia! I came here to flee communism and I arrived in Saddam and Gomorrah-American’s need another wake up call to reality!" A Russian’s words-not mine.

Hey-for those wanting a wild ride-I share about Bishop David Manning’s nightly Manning News Reports on the web-and his stuff on Prejean, Palin & Michael Savage (banned from England). Man is the fire sizzling every day on that site! Check it out on the web for some hot n’ heavy American debates.

MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski says the New York Times and other members of the "media elite" knew very little about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin when it was announced she would be Sen. John McCain’s running mate, except that they wanted to "bring her down."

"Let me make this clear, because this is my world and these are the people I’ve worked with for twenty years," Brzezinski explains.

"Members of the network media elite, as well as members and people who worked for the New York Times when Sarah Palin first came on the scene, and this is what they knew about her: She was a woman, she was pro-life, and she had some very, very conservative views on other issues," Brzezinski says.

"And all I could hear from my friends in the network media elite was, ‘Let’s bring her down. I hope these rumors bring her down.’

"And at a party where there were people from The New York Times, all they would talk about is the rumors that they hoped would bring her down," Brzezinski says of the troubling behavior of some of her media colleagues.

"They did not know her. They didn’t know anything about her. But they wanted to bring her down."

Brzezinski also is perplexed by the way some journalists talk about President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle behind the scenes, when nobody else is listening to them.

"I still don’t think it’s right to be in love with him," Brzezinski says of the media’s infatuation with Obama. "And to be acting like a little girl at a Beatles concert."

Host Joe Scarborough agrees with Brzezinski, adding that it may be fine to root for a particular politician, but that you cannot do so if you "pretend to be a journalist."

"You have to be dispassionate about what you do," Scarborough says. "You have to be disconnected. Sadly, many in the media cannot do that because they have fallen so deeply in love with Obama."

Oh, come on, SJ.  We all saw the Gibson and Couric interviews ,and we also saw her make a fool of herself during the debate with Biden. The first words out of her mouth were, " I may not know all the answers to the questions , but I’m gonna talk to the American people".  Sarah Palin didn’t even know debate protocol.  She stood there , mostly looking down and fumbling furiously through her index cards.  Gwen later said, " I couldn’t believe it. She totally dissed me."   Sarah had five people prepping her for that debate.  Biden probably did too.  But it was one of Sarah’s preps who later said, " She can only focus for about 20 minutes".

Sarah Palin was deceitful the first time we met her.  She had Bristol walk out , carrying the baby with a long blanket hanging down to hide her pregnancy.  Sarah actually believed she could pull that off.  The GOP quickly stepped up the plate and decided to make the Palins the modern day Partridge Family.

The media had a ball with Sarah Palin ( and still do), but it is Sarah who gives them plenty of material to work with.

Now that is rich…talking about Palin putting a foot in her mouth in the same paragraph as Biden’s name!

Maggie your slanted libeal talking points comments about Sarah only prove to me that you have done little or no research on the woman other that what you have been spoonfed.  You need to get out more…..

Did you miss this comment on the Huffington no less…."

Part III: Klein talks all about the politicians that "SNL" has hosted over the years. She says John McCain has a "great sense of humor" and that Sarah Palin was one of the most confident people she’s ever met. "I actually was the first person to meet her," Klein said of Palin. "I was standing there, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, she looks just like Tina!’" Klein said Palin had an "incredibly strong handshake" and that she was overwhelmed by her resemblance to Tina Fey. "A lot of people come to our show — actors, musicians — and they’re nervous…she was not nervous. I thought, this is the most confident person I’ve ever met."  Marci Klein-Saturday Night Live Producer

Well,  S.J.….big whoop.  You offer up Marci Klein as some sort of authority on Sarah Palin?  What’s that supposed to prove?  Sarah has a strong handshake.  So what?  So does Mike Tyson.  Do you also think he’s a mental giant?  I saw the SNL live show Palin appeared on… she was totally lame and very nervous.

Don’t come on here shaking your usual tasteless middle school  bullying at me.  I’m not buying it.  I repeat …I SAW Palin on Gibson, Couric, and the debate.   She was a total embarrassment.  I have also researched her during the campaign and from many sources, especially the Alaskan newspapers and blogs from Alaskans.

You may not like Joe Biden.  But he’s the VP and your princess is not.  Tough pill to swallow, isn’t it?

I think you saw what you wanted to see!  Every other person who has spoken about her appearance on SNL who was there..said very different things about her.  Whatever………she certainly scares the heck out of the Dems…and that is what counts!

Here’s a sample of her brilliance.  On another occasion, when asked what their favorite inspirational movies were, Joe Biden immediately answered " Chariots of Fire" , an award winner, and recalled specific details.   Palin fumbled around and finally said " Rudy".  RUDY!!!   A kid’s Disney movie!  Then Winky couldn’t even remember anything about it.  She just sat there and giggled.

Your Kool Aid needs another ice cube, Mister.

Maybe she has not had time to see a movie.  What does that mean anyway?  If you asked me my favorite inspirational movie…I would have to think long and hard since I’m not much of a movie buff.

Biden evidently has such a light schedule he has time to watch them..over and over.

The Palin’s live out life struggles daily and with a special needs child they focus on him rather than entertainment.

Actually it is kind of a stupid question to ask in the first place…

…"the list of those politicians that wrote their own books is very, very small. In fact there are at least two prominent book sellers whose names appear on covers of books written by ghostwriters that Silva has probably never once scolded for having a "hired writer." Those two are Bill and Hillary Clinton. Add to that John Kerry, Al Gore "
