Paula Abdul's Fans Work to Keep Her on 'American Idol'; Chris Brown Apology Video (Video)

Even though some may think she’s a bit "out there," Paula Abdul — a stark contrast to her fellow judge, the caustic Simon Cowell — may have plans to leave "American Idol." But a slew of fans wants her to stay put.
"Idol" fans have launched a grassroots campaign on Twitter and "Idol" Web forums to keep Abdul on, after her manager said she didn’t receive a new contract proposal. "If it weren’t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a lot worse! xoP," Abdul, who has judged the show for eight seasons, wrote to her fans on Twitter, Reuters says. But despite all the fretting, Cowell told "Extra": "She’ll be fine. She’ll be on the show," adding, "I don’t get a lot of say. I’ve just made it clear that I want Paula on the show."
In other, more serious celebrity news, in a case that brought domestic abuse to the forefront of the American public’s eye, the young singer accused of beating then-girlfriend Rihanna has issued a very public apology for his behavior. Last month he was slapped with five year’s probation and community service. Watch Chris Brown’s apology video, during which he says he’s "sad" and "ashamed" of his actions, below. What do you think of his apology?

WOW, Chris Brown admits he did wrong…I guess that is pie in the face to all those who think he didnt do it?
I dont care if Paula comes back to AI or not - I havent watched it since Eliott Yamin.
Dang, the way Chris Brown mentions God, he should run for office. That old refrain sounds all too familiar when someone’s butt is in the frying pan.
Paula is part of what makes AI a success. Loopy behavior and all, she is a powerful ingredient. Kara DioGuardi may be a huge talent in the music industry and a great songwriter, but she has added nothing to the show. Time for her to make an exit.
I agree with you Mary, apologising after a conviction does sound… like an apology under duress, and not entirely heartfelt. When you hurt someone you profess to love, moral conscience and obligation calls for immediate remedial action. Violence iby any party in any relationship is deplorable
As far as Chris Brown, whatever!! Show us how you’ve changed!
American Idol wouldn’t be the same without spaced out Paula.
Chris Brown has lost millions of dollars in endorsements. He could care less about nearly beating Rihanna’s brains out, throwing her from the car and leaving her medically unattended. He’s a battering thug! … He has the nerve to still think of himself as a role model. Like Chris Brown his words are empty scripted pus pimples on an elephants arse.
The only thing missing from his apology was an push for his new album. What a ridiculous ploy…
