Sarah Palin Psychic Profile: Peggy Rometo on Why Alaska's Former Governor Will Bow Out of 2012 Presidential Election

It’s been a wild ride for America’s most notorious ex-governor. Why did Palin resign? Does she harbor any regrets? What is her current relationship with John McCain? wOw intuitive Peggy Rometo weighs in.

Sarah Palin was a widely unknown politician and self-described "hockey mom" before John McCain chose her as his vice-presidential running mate for the 2008 presidential election. Since then, the ex-governor of Alaska has become a household name, a woman whose every move is endlessly analyzed by bloggers, talking heads and late-night talk-show hosts alike. In the wake of her resignation, she’s continued to generate headlines after an ongoing ethics probe into her use of government trust funds became public. We asked wOw intuitive Peggy Rometo about the past, present and future of the country’s most famous Alaskan.

wowOwow: Why did Sarah Palin really step down?

Peggy
: She stepped down for several reasons. My sense is that she’s a very complex and sensitive person, which makes it difficult for her to speak publicly about her family and her own emotions (and may account for the trouble she encountered in conveying her decision to resign). First and foremost, she was exhausted, and felt she was neglecting her marriage, her kids and her own health. And second, she felt she had become a detriment to her state: There was too much focus on her and her family, and not on the issues. Her lack of accountability and inability to focus caused state officials to ask her to step down, and she conceded. In the end, she felt that by staying she was not serving Alaska well, which helped her to justify her resignation.

This investigation may be one of the reasons that she will ultimately pass up or bow out of the 2012 election.

wOw: Does she have any regrets about her decision?

Peggy: She goes back and forth. Initially, she felt sad about giving up the office she had fought so strenuously to win; now, she worries that she should have stuck it out. She regrets the example that she’s set for her kids and feels bad about letting her constituents down. At the same time, she is enjoying her personal freedom, and feels she’s done the right thing for her family and Alaska in the long run. But there is still an occasional twinge of "what if" she had waited to finish out her term and not allowed herself to be bullied.

wOw: Does she have presidential ambitions?

Peggy
: I do see that she is strongly interested in running for president, but with considerations. At the moment, she’s wrung out from the mayhem and limelight of the 2008 race, and is feeling accosted by the pressure of her public role. My sense is that she’s simply burned out, and needs time to regroup. In the spring of 2010, after she’s feeling rested, she’ll consider whether or not she’ll become a candidate – which will in part be based on how much support she feels she has in the Republican Party.

wOw: Will she win if she does run for president?

Peggy: That’s the million-dollar question! And unfortunately, we’re not dealing in absolutes here. My sense is that she’ll spend part of 2010 forming an exploratory committee and getting a real sense of her prospects. If she doesn’t gain enough support, or feels she can’t win, she won’t run at all; she doesn’t want to put her family or herself through a national campaign unless she has a real shot. But what I’m seeing now is that many in her party will want her to be the nominee, on the basis that a woman can be a viable candidate in light of Hillary Clinton’s strong showing in 2008. But I believe Sarah will shock everyone by pulling out unexpectedly or declining altogether.

wOw: It was announced recently that Palin is under investigation for misuse of government trust funds relating to her personal legal bills. Is this controversy part of the reason she resigned the governorship?

canuck, thanks for reminding us of who Sarah Palin really is.

In sheer accomplishments, she runs circles around Obama.  That’s something that cannot be denied, though some try.

I sincerely wish her well in whatever she chooses to do.

Now, now, Marjorie, don’t make me say WTF one more time. I’m not one to bash poor Sarah, but for you to say she runs circles around Obama is so hyperbolic, it knocks my socks off.

She can’t be talking about the same Sarah.  Sarah the VP candidate admitted she didn’t know what the duties of the VP were…." They haven’t told me yet."   If that wasn’t bad enough, she later said she would be in charge of the Senate.

Yow-zer!!!!

That is "running circles" ?  More than amusing!

Maggie:  …admitted she didn’t know what the duties of the VP were

And you think Obama really knows what he’s doing.  This is on-the-job training for him.  Take away the speech writers and teleprompters and see what you’ve got.  A Gates/Crowley affair every day.

As for her reply about the V.P. and the Senate, it was reasonable.  Taken out of context, of course, makes all the difference in the world.

Under the Constitution, the Vice President is President of the Senate. By virtue of the Vice President’s role as President of the Senate, he or she is the nominal head of the United States Senate. In that capacity, the Vice President is allowed to vote in the Senate, but only when necessary to break a tied vote.  Wikipedia.

But you can beat the bejesus out of her if that floats your boat.

Nice try. But that is not what Failin Palin meant.  If she knew that ( and what a stretch that is! ), she would have loved to have showboated her knowledge.  You know… how she reads " all newspapers" but then couldn’t think of a single one?

And, just so you know, all new Presidents have on the job training.  Only second term Presidents do not.

As for "beating the bejesus out of her", no need really.  Give her just a couple feet of rope and she will hang herself every time.  In that respect, she never disappoints.

Maggie:   …In that respect, she never disappoints.

And neither do you.  Go for it if it makes you feel good.

Thank you for being so gracious.  It does make me feel good when I can expose a hypocrite whose self adoration makes for the most wonderful SNL skits.

"In sheer accomplishments, she runs circles around Obama."

Definitely.

Personally, I think she’s smart to get out of it. Why spend your life beating your head against the wall? To what end?

I wish her well too - and that means staying home and taking care of her neglected children.  Or, will she quit on them too?  She’ll soon be flitting around the country leaving first dude in charge.  It is an embarrassment to this country that people of her limited capacity can reach high office.  But then again, look at some of the idiots in congress.

Wow Dewey Whetsell should have been Palins speech writer.  Hey, where was he when she needed him?  She may not have been able to pull it off, -not even in his words.  He compares Obama wanting to have renewable 25%resources for the "nation" to Palins "Alaska" 25%resources - its apparent he doesnt see the difference.   Nice play on words… oh and the jabbing and pestering a barracuda.. spin around and tear your face off… apparently your barracuda tired out.  And from the sounds of her last speech, dumbfounded - talking about an adolescent screecher.  Maybe Palin can hire him to write her book - or has she already approached him?

The person who wrote Palin’s RNC speech was speech writer Matt Sculley.  Prior to the speech, he had never met Sarah.  He took information about her and worked it well.  He had written for GWB a few times.  That speech was excellent, so McCain retained him along with three others to stay with Palin on the campaign trail.  Sculley lasted 4 weeks and quit.  Had it been in divorce court, it would have been " irreconcilable differences".

Well there is three minutes of my life I won’t regain…

Let’s see, after Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska; and is now ‘private citizen Palin’ instead of the de riguer Palin-A-Day thread now WoW is doing presumptive, astrological readings on Palin to gin up responses???

How about a thread on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Kenya? Or the ‘pitchfork and torch’ rebellions at the Town Hall Meetings all over the country? Or the Obama as Joker poster popping up all over…but nopers…lets forecast ‘stuff’ about Palin…

You gotta be kidding me right? A fake interview and fake responses based on this psychic chicks intution? Perhaps whoever wrote the Disclaimer should consider a career in politics. It’s the best thing I’ve ever read!

What is this article based on?  Is it just Peggy Rometo’s intuitive take on Sarah Palin based upon the same information that is available to all of us?  Or has she interviewed Palin and gotten specific information and insight from her?  It’s very confusing because much of this article isn’t consistent with what we are seeing from Palin herself.
