Evangelist Melissa Scott is finally coming clean about her past — and it’s not exactly a holy one.
Soon after she first started preaching at downtown Los Angeles’ University Cathedral, someone outed her as a porn star named "Barbie Bridges." The church’s internet newsgroups were hacked and infiltrated with photos, as was her Wikipedia page. For years Scott denied the charges, but has now touched up the truth in an exclusive interview with Marie Claire magazine. She also discusses her relationship with her late husband, Gene "Doc" Scott, while the magazine talks to other people who chronicle Scott’s path from Penthouse to Preacher.
When asked about all the pictures of her that made their way around the congregation and the Internet after she started preaching, Scott said:
"It’s definitely a freak show. I’ve seen a good portion of the stuff on the Internet, and honestly, I almost have to laugh at it," she says, flashing the smile again. Pressed further, Scott sighs deeply, then adds, "Okay, I was never an actress in a pornographic movie. So what does that do? You defend that, what else do you start defending?"

Thank you Ron. We are all in need of God’s grace and forgiveness. The person who is supposedly seeking to expose Pastor Scott’s past was born in sin and shaped in iniquity, and should, like all of us, daily seek God’s mercy and forgiveness. We are living in an age where electronic and print voyeurism seeks to pull people down, and those purveyors of this practice should examine themselves, because their baggage (sin) may be next. I thank God for his forgiveness and praise him for his not being like us human beings. I pray that Pastor Scott will finish strong as a living testament to the transforming power of the gospel. As Jesus said; "Those that are whole do not need a doctor, but those who are sick". Pastor Scott may have been blind, but now she can see.
I used to detest Gene Scott and would flip past him as quickly as possible, but caught him 2 years ago and saw that he got saved and preached a brilliant sermon. Well Melissa is just as brilliant. I don’t care what her past is. She is definitely tracking with Jesus now & teaching the truth in a very unique way. Her past is irrelevant to me.
