Farrah Fawcett’s longtime lover Ryan O’Neal revealed that these may be the final days for the cancer-stricken "Charlie’s Angels" star.

"She stays in bed now," the actor said in an emotional interview with People magazine published Thursday. "The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended."

O’Neal, who has a 24-year-old son, Redmond, with Fawcett, also said that he will have to brace himself for a life without her.

"It’s a love story," said O’Neal. "I just don’t know how to play this one. I won’t know this world without her. Cancer is an insidious enemy."

Fawcett was diagnosed with rectal cancer in September 2006. She went to Germany to undergo embryonic stem-cell treatment. For the last two and a half years, Fawcett’s friends and family have taped the young star’s battle. The footage has been turned into a documentary, "A Wing and Prayer," that will air May 15 on NBC.

I do believe that Farrah and Ryan’s is a true love story.  I just hope that both he and their son can get their acts together before it is too late.  That would be the greatest gift and legacy they could offer her.

You hit it right on the head Deena B. There couldn’t be a better thing for them to do than to live up to the promise that will straighten their lives out. I am more concerned about Redmond than I am Ryan. I just hope they can/will keep their word!

My heart goes out to the family and her many fans.  When Farrah was at the University of Texas, guys would hang out in front of her sorority house just to get a glimpse of the beauty.  She was destined for stardom and will be fondly remembered by many.

So sad..I grew up watching her on TV..Always such a beautiful woman!  Cancer is such a hard battle, I lost my father to it.  To watch someone suffer with it is so hard.  God Bless them all!

And my heart goes out to all of them.   Farrah has been fighting a long and hard battle with this disease.    I, too, will watch a Wing and a Prayer.

Farrah we love you and are heart-broken about this.  You had a love that many of us only dream about, Ryan is a prince :-)

This is sad. She is still the beautiful blonde in the red swimsuit…a modern day Aphrodite, naughty and nice. I feel very sorry for the three of them and hope the judge has the heart to let her son out of jail to be with his mother.

Cecile, you missed the point.  Farrah is an icon and made her way into our collective consciousness when she was very young, so she will always be young.  My daughter, who is 41, likes to say she had the first Farrah haircut in gradeschool, and the last one in high school! Grown men I knew liked to brag they went to UT when she did.  As gorgeous as she was, there has always been such a sweetness and vulnerability about her that nobody could not like her.  And when she proved her dramatic talent in "Burning Bed", one of the best depictions of domestic violence ever, everyone agreed she is not only beautiful but extremely talented.  Farrah will always be young.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

Elaine…oh so true….Farrah will always be remember as a beautiful woman, and still is.  Her role in "Burning Bed" was outstanding, and so was "Small Sacrifices"…..I don’t think she got the credit she should have….many thought she was just another "dumb blonde".  Prayers are going to her and her family…God Bless Them All.

She is an icon.  When she made "Burning Bed" it was considered controversial to even TALK about domestic violence.  Because she allowed her incredible beauty to take a back seat to the message, the movie was even more powerful.

My love to you Farrah.  You will never know how many of us you have affected and we wish you well.  May God give your family strength and God Bless You all.

That was prety harsh.  I was only pointing out what I thought was an error in the storry - I did not read the line way it was meant and thought it was an error.  Now that you point out how it was meant I see it and regret the post, but there was no need to be so harsh to me.

Cecile, I think it may have been the "LOL" that was the most inappropriate part of the post, given the circumstances.  I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way.
