Kelly Bensimon might be able to relate to the millions of pink-slipped Americans. "The Real Housewives of New York" star lost her modeling gig with Saks Fifth Avenue.

Bensimon was the spokesperson for Saks’s new line, Wear, which focuses on updated designs for modern women, and appeared in the department store’s Spring 2009 catalog, which launched in February this year.

Despite her arrest for allegedly clobbering ex-beau Nick Stefanov in the face, Saks insists the spat has nothing to do with why the high-end department store hasn’t booked her again, a spokesperson told the New York Post.

Bensimon, the ex-wife of famous fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon, has two children.

Hmm, they didn’t say, however, that the decision had nothing to do with her seemingly "on something" appearance on this past week’s show.

Kelly is a bit of a conundrum. She writes for magazines and they print her work, yet she has the vocabulary of a 17 year old who failed English class. She clearly is not an intellectual match for Bethanny. But perhaps she doesn’t have to be since according to Ms. Kelly, "She’s up here( hands moving up) and Bethanny is down here (hands moving down). I just wish Bethanny had had the smarts not to get so jealous of Kelly. No need, she will deconstruct on her own.
